Factory Dual Exhaust! Power Steering & Power Brakes! Power Windows and Top! Original Window Sticker! Original Dealer Invoice! Original Warranty Book! This 1960 Bonneville is a beauty! This Bonneville was born with a factory 389CI Tri Power 389hp V~8 that runs great. It spent most of its life on the west coast before coming to the east coast in 2007 where it has been garage kept. The car has never been fully restored however in 1996 the Coronado Red was restored as well as having the bumpers re~chromed and the top being replaced in the early 90's. All of the body lines are straight and in~line and to our knowledge has never had any accidents or repairs. All in all the car is original. We had added fender skirts as well as pulled the seats and checked all the floor pans and everything is great. For a 54 year old car you could not ask for anything better. We have receipts from the previous owners for common p/m work completed from 1990 to 1996 and also with documented mileage . The last seven years the car has had approx 2,000 miles put on it on Sunday cruises or to and from car shows close to home. GM recalls 61k more vehicles in three campaigns
Sun, 05 Oct 2014Following a stop-delivery order for its new midsize trucks and a rash of recent recalls, General Motors is issuing three more campaigns covering 60,575 vehicles in North America with 57,182 of them in the US. As of October 1, the automaker has issued a total of 74 recalls (see the ridiculously long chart to the right) this year covering 26,495,070 units in the US.
The largest campaign covers 46,873 examples in the US of the 2008-2009 Pontiac G8 and 2011-2013 Chevrolet Caprice Police Patrol Vehicle imported from Australia. It's possible for the driver's knee to hit the key and make it move from the "Run" to "ACC" position while driving. GM says its Holden division is developing a fixed-blade key that's supposed to fix the problem by only allowing it to rotate toward the "On" position. There has been one crash caused by this fault but no injuries or fatalities.
The second recall is for 10,005 units of the 2004-2007 Cadillac CTS-V and 2006-2007 Cadillac STS-V because "the fuel pump module electrical terminal may overheat." This can cause a flange to melt and allow the pump to leak fuel. GM specifies that the remedy for the CTS-V is replacing the fuel module and fuel tank jumper harness, but it doesn't specify how the STS-V is being repaired.
STUDY: Ford owns brand loyalty in 2009; Scorned Saturn, Pontiac buyers will look outside of GM
Fri, 16 Oct 2009Ford buyers appear to love their cars more than customers of any other automotive brand, returning back to the American automaker when it comes time to purchase their next vehicle. According to a study by Experian Automotive, six of the top 10 vehicles for customer brand loyalty wear badges from the Blue Oval. That includes the Ford Fusion (62.4 percent), Ford Edge (57.9 percent), Ford Five Hundred/Taurus (56 percent), Ford Freestyle (51.9 percent), Ford Escape (49.4 percent) and the Ford Focus (47.57 percent).
Other vehicles making up the top 10 include the Toyota Prius (52 percent), Chevy Impala (51.7 percent), Toyota Camry (47.8 percent) and Toyota Corolla (47.56 percent). This brings up an interesting question: With the closing of automotive brands like Saturn and Pontiac, where are those buyers to turn for their next automotive purchase?
Apparently, not back to General Motors. According to Experian, Pontiac owners are most likely to look to the Ford lineup for their next car or truck and Saturn shoppers will switch to Toyota or Honda - not particularly surprising given that Saturn was meant to compete with import brands. Experian predicts that GM's overall market share will fall from 20 percent to about 17.5 percent, with most of the slack being picked up by Ford, Honda and Toyota.
GM issues four new recalls, 2.4 million cars affected
