NICE 2ND OWNER JEEP. I BOUGHT THIS FROM THE ORIGINAL OWNER ABOUT 2 YEARS AGO WITH 180K MILES. THEY SERVICED IT BY THE BOOK, BY THE SAME MECHANIC THE ENTIRE TIME THEY OWNED IT. I ONLY PUT APPROXIMATELY 8K MILES, ON THE JEEP BECAUSE THE FAMILY MEMBER I BOUGHT IT FOR, PURCHASED A DIFFERENT VEHICLE. WE OWN 2 OTHER JEEP'S SO THIS ONE NEEDS A NEW HOME. THE 4WD WORKS GREAT. THE MOTOR IS STRONG.YOU CANT GO WRONG WITH THE INLINE 6! NO LEAKS OF ANY KIND. CRUISE, POWER WINDOWS AND LOCKS. THIS IS THE COMMAND TRAC VERSION.  I REPLACED THE BATTERY AND THE WATER PUMP THIS YEAR. IT ALSO HAS THE TRAILER HITCH. OF COURSE IT IS A 96' SO HERE ARE THE NEGATIVES. ITS AN ILLINOIS VEHICLE, SO IT DOES HAVE SOME MINOR RUST AS SHOWN IN THE PICTURES. I NEVER REPLACED THE TIRES, SO I WOULD RECOMMEND REPLACING THE FRONT FOR SURE. THE BACKS ARE NOT BAD. THE POWER STEERING COULD BE BETTER. IT'S NOT LEAKING, BUT SOME DAYS IT SEEMS FINE, SOME DAYS IT'S A BIT STIFF. THE INTERIOR IS QUITE CLEAN FOR ITS AGE EXCEPT FOR SOME STAINING ON THE PASSENGER FRONT CARPET AS SEEN IN THE PHOTO. THE DRIVER SIDE REAR WINDOW WILL GO DOWN, BUT NOT UP SO YOU WILL NOTICE A PIECE OF TAPE OVER THE SWITCH SO NO ONE LOWERS THAT WINDOW.  PLEASE ASK ANY AND ALL QUESTIONS BEFORE BIDDING/BUYING. ALL SALES FINAL. SOLD AS IS. FEEL FREE TO COME BY AND TAKE IT FOR A TEST DRIVE.

Some Jeep Cherokees and Chrysler 200s to get standard stop-start in 2015

Wed, 25 Jun 2014

Automakers the world over are striving to find ways to make their models more efficient, and Chrysler has a solution for some versions of the 2015 Chrysler 200 and 2015 Jeep Cherokee (2014 model shown). The Tigershark 2.4-liter four-cylinder in the 200 and the 3.2-liter Pentastar V6 in the Cherokee are getting a slight boost later this year thanks to the addition of Chrysler's Engine Stop-Start system as standard equipment. The company predicts modest gains - a three-percent improvement in fuel economy and a three percent reduction in CO2 emissions with the new tech compared to without it. While it's not much, those who sit in traffic a lot may see a difference.
Chrysler's stop/start system uses a high-speed starter motor to restart the vehicle in a claimed a third of a second. It works by detecting when the vehicle comes to a stop and turning off the engine. A more powerful battery maintains all of the model's accessories while it sits. When the driver lets off the brake, the car starts up again to drive away. There is even a button in the cabin to turn the ESS off, if desired.
The Jeep will be the first to receive ESS in the third quarter of this year to coincide with the start of production of the 2015 model-year version. The 200 will follow in the fourth quarter as a rolling change in production.

2014 Jeep Cherokee configurator up and running

Fri, 09 Aug 2013

Production delays aside, Jeep is steaming towards its September on-sale date for the 2014 Cherokee. The reborn midsizer's configurator has just gone live, meaning you can fiddle with different options, colors and trim levels to your heart's content.
The cheapest model available is the 4X2 Sport, which starts at a reasonable $22,995. On the high end, the Cherokee's builder allowed us to indulge our passion for ludicrously priced vehicles by outfitting the top-end Trailhawk, which already starts at $29,495, with $8,610 in options. The resulting car, which you can see above, would retail for $39,100 after the $995 destination is factored in.
Head on over to Jeep's build-it-yourself website and have a look around.

Jeep mulling power top for next Wrangler

Fri, 07 Mar 2014

Jeep is hard at work on the next-generation Wrangler, though the truck is still a few years from hitting the trails. The new model will still be aimed at off-roaders, but rumors suggest it will be a little more comfortable than previous versions to appeal to more people.
According to Road and Track, Jeep is developing a power-retractable top as an expensive option for the Wrangler. There is no word if the top in question is a sliding canvas rollback like the ones found on many European vehicles or a full convertible hardtop or softtop, nor do we know whether it would be made available on two- or four-door models. It might be a nice feature for some buyers but would certainly add complexity to a truck already known for its ruggedness. We asked Jeep for confirmation, but Jeep spokesperson Todd Goyer could only remind us that the company "can't comment about future products."
In news that is likely to irk the faithful, R&T reports the next model may also ditch its folding windshield for improved safety and possibly even get rid of its rear-mounted, full-size spare tire. The new Wrangler won't go completely soft, though, and will reportedly still feature removable doors and solid axles.
