1973 Vintage Jaguar - Garage Kept on 2040-cars
Las Cruces, New Mexico, United States
Posting this Vintage 1973 Jaguar for my dad. As might have seen in other
craigslist posts, my dad has been selling off his collection of
vintage/classic vehicles. My dad has no room to continue in storing or
paying insurance on his vehicles therefore he is now selling off the
majority of his vehicles.
This Jaguar is road ready. Vehicle drives VERY well despite its age. The original engine was replaced with an American made 350 V8 engine. When the swap of engine took place, the gas tank was not reconnected because the tank had not been drained. The vehicle sat in garage for many years and the gas in the tank went bad so my dad decided to install a tank in the trunk to avoid using the bad gas in the original tank. Don't ask me why he did that but that is what he stated to me. The gas gauge does function and mark correctly. The interior is remarkable and well taken care of as you can see in the pictures. One modification made, which can easily be switched back to its original form, is the front door panels are not original. Instead, they were replaced with wood panels which are not original. All gauge in the instrument panel are working except the clock and oil gauge which need to be plugged in. This occurred when the engine was swapped and not reconnected before reinstalling the dash. The Jaguar has the original AM/FM radio and original speakers. The seals around the front and back windows are cracked because the seals around the windows have never been switched out. Although the car has its flaws, this car needs very little work. Please feel free to look at the vehicle. |

Jaguar takes bite out of Mercedes' Magic Body Control chicken ad
Tue, 17 Dec 2013We were quite impressed by Mercedes-Benz when it aired its Magic Body Control commercial, starring a group suitably funky chickens demonstrating their ability to jive to Diana Ross and the Supremes. Now, Jaguar has taken the opportunity to poke some fun at its German rival, releasing its own take on the Magic Body Control spot, and um, there's a big cat involved.
You'll really want to take a look at this video, which is just another sign that in terms of clever ads, Jaguar is doing quite well. We aren't sure if "Jaguar vs. Chicken" will make it onto TV any time soon, but it's still fun to see the British brand take the mickey out of Mercedes - it's rare to see automakers go after each other so bluntly in their marketing efforts. Scroll down to watch the video (we've also included a bonus video, Jag's recent "Cat In A Box" spot).
Jaguar confirms XE reveal for September 8
Tue, 15 Jul 2014Jaguar has a whole raft of new products in the pipeline, from the long-awaited replacement for the XF mid-size sedan and a likely XJ-based replacement for the XK coupe and convertible to the production version of its C-X17 crossover concept. But arguably the most important will be the all-new XE, a compact sports sedan pointed squarely at the BMW 3 Series - a market segment which Jaguar last nipped at with the regrettable X-Type, one which it is now committed to tackling head on.
The British automaker has been trickling out a steady stream of details on its upcoming XE, from the initial announcement in March to the reveal of the disguised prototype in May and most recently the details released just last week of the new Ingenium engine family that will provide its motivation. Now Jaguar has confirmed the XE reveal timeframe and some more salient details of its chassis.
Set to be unveiled in London on September 8, the XE will reach European showrooms in 2015 and our shores in 2016. That's when buyers will be able to get their hands on what Jaguar is already characterizing as "a true driver's car; one that redefines the concept of the sports sedan."
Jaguar's first-ever Super Bowl ad to feature F-Type Coupe
Sun, 10 Nov 2013Patrons of this year's Los Angeles Auto Show will be able to get their first glimpse at the new Jaguar F-Type Coupe, but the new hardtop sports car will be shown off to an even greater audience in early February. No, we aren't talking about the Chicago Auto Show - we're referring to the Super Bowl. Jaguar will debut its first-ever Super Bowl ad during the second half of the big game on February 2, 2014, and the sleek new F-Type Coupe will be the star.
According to Jaguar, the ad campaign will pose the question, "Have you ever noticed how in Hollywood movies, all the villains are played by Brits?" And for all you social media mavens out there, Jaguar will launch a specific hashtag to go with this marketing: #GoodToBeBad.
British director Tom Hooper is responsible for the ad, which is being filmed in London. Americans will get their first glimpse at the campaign this weekend in the first spot, called Disruptor, but the big F-Type Coupe spot will not air until Super Bowl XLVIII in February.
