Please email me with any questions or requests for additional pics or something specific at: gaylordgffongvongsa@barmyarmy.net .
Listed is my 1994 Hummer H1 Wagon in excellent physical and mechanical condition. I have owned this Hummer H1 for 14 years. Serviced and ready
for action. Has newer style AM General brush guard, roof rack, spare tire carrier, and side view mirrors. New CD
player and speakers (after the pics were taken). Upgraded HVAC system which was refurbished 24 months ago
(evaporator/cooler, heater core/diverter box, AC compressor, lines). Newer style wagon roof installed and vehicle
repainted a few years ago (lots of attention paid to the mating sufaces as this is where they rust). LED lights all
around. Underbody protection. CTIS. Warn 12,000 lbs. electric winch. Goodyear M/T tires near 90% w/ runflats.
Centra-matic wheel balancers.Viper alarm system. Upgraded suspension components when I replaced the entire
suspension a few years back (coil springs/seats/ control arms/ ball joints/ drive shafts, halfshalfs, etc.). Not a
garage queen. Used often and well maintained. Never off-roaded. Only know problems- CTIS system leaks down tires
over a one week period (wheel valves and geared hub o-rings replaced but further trouble shooting needed), wear on
the driver's seat fabric and passenger console area (please see pics), and flaking paint on center window retainer.
There are no surprises. Excellent truck. Selling because we just don't use it anymore. Questions welcome. I have
owned both military and civilian hummers for 16 years now and they really are a very special type of vehicle both
on and off the road. I trust them with my family! The only time this Hummer H1 got stopped in the snow was when it
pushed up such a pile in front of it that it drove over the pile and straddled it (wheels off of the ground). Two
different cars hit my wife from behind in the area of the receiver hitch. Can you see it?

Hummers are for Horses: Artist reimagines the monsterous SUV [w/video]
Thu, 25 Mar 2010Horse-drawn Hummer H2 - Click above to view the video after the jump
When the internal combustion engine finally helped the automobile pass the horse-drawn carriage as the chosen method of transportation for a majority of citizens in the United States, that a step in the right direction. Right? Moving forward about a hundred years... when the behemoth Sport Utility Vehicle that never actually seems to venture off the beaten path passed the minivan in the hearts and minds of families across the country as the people-mover of choice, was that a step in the right direction?
If you answered no to either of the above questions, perhaps you'll enjoy the video pasted after the break. Created by artist Jeremy Dean (read about our initial post on the project here), the converted Hummer H2 is called Futurama and is pulled by two white horses named, appropriately enough, Duke and Diesel. Hummers are for horses? See for yourself.
Architects design home made entirely of Hummers
Tue, 26 Jul 2011Architects Craig Hodges and HsinMing Fung joined forces in 1984 to create their agency HplusF. Since then, the pair have gone on to apply their stylistic skill to the UCLA library, Hollywood Bowl, Egyptian Theater and a number of other works of architectural art. HplusF also tackles unique installations and showpieces, one of which involves the now-departed Hummer brand.
What could easily be a luxury apartment in the video game Fallout 3 is in fact HplusF's HummerHaus. Eight identical Hummer body shells wrap around a a steel skeleton to form a living space like no other.
Of course, this is merely a concept, but it's a rather interesting one. Could old vehicles be rehabbed into affordable living spaces? Could the Hummer body have a new lease on life after it was cut from the General Motors family?
Humvee reborn on the battlefield... with a chimney?!
Fri, 09 Dec 2011The military's High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV), better known to most of us as the Humvee, has already served a long and distinguished career in the battlefield, and there have been a number of replacements waiting in the wings to take over where the HMMWV left off. Or, should we say, leaves off... assuming that ever happens.
It seems that the Humvee is set to get a new lease on life as military budget constraints are forcing the government to reconsider its replacement. But there are still some pesky safety issues to work out before American soldiers will feel comfortable inside the confines of the off-road box on wheels.
As you're likely aware, improvised explosive devices are an ever-increasing threat to the lives of American troops serving overseas. The Humvee, which traces its design all the way back to the year 1984 when it first saw duty as a replacement for the long-running series of military Jeeps, has seen a number of incarnations over the years that added armor and improved safety, but the latest version may feature something hitherto unseen: a chimney.
