Hi all-

I have my 1922 Ford Model T touring up for sale.  I bought it last summer, and put much time and $$$ into it, but just bought a Model A and need the garage space.  It is located in Dayton Ohio. I have every receipt from work done, parts were from Langs and include the following.

- New classtique One Man Top. professionally installed
- New top irons and wood ($865 alone!)
- New safety glass
- New interior and kickpanels, floorwood and mat
- New seat springs on front and back
- Newer lucas tires
- Rebuilt front end spindles and wheel bearings
- New manifold and total exhaust
- Four rebuilt coils
- Rebuilt fan hub
- Rechromed original reflectors with the clear '16 lenses.  I am including the stock 22 ones.
- New steering new by WoodByKevin
- Refinished rear wheels. Includes the original black ones if you want to change it back.  +2 tires and rims
- All new wiring, brake switch, porcelain knob and tube
- Previous owner put newer bands in
- Rebuilt carb by Russ Potter
- New plug wires w/ champion X
- Various new bolts, zerk fittings, small parts
- New gas tank
- New ANCO timer in box
- New dipstick oil checker
- New motometer with original face
- New valve springs
- New accessory trans filter collector
- Repainted any encountered parts with black rust seal, including the engine
- Rebuilt mag horn

Just cleaned the head and it has the original cast pistons. I suspect the engine and transmission is original. Runs ok, generator charges and shifts fine. I drive it around daily, just around the neighborhood but never more than a few miles. Never had it up to speed, just enough to "putz" around. Traffic is too dense to be on the normal roads.  I've worked on the car nearly everyday and enjoyed it, but has to go.  Titled and has an assigned VIN number by Ohio Dept of Motor Vehicles.  Since they assigned a VIN, they titled it as a 2002 "assembled car-Model T".  They wouldn't let me change they year on it, but doesn't harm anything.

What does it need?
- Would probably need a rear end rebuild.  I can push the axles in and out a bit to indicate some wear is present.  Unknown thrust washer status
- Does smoke some if I'm stopped at a light for awhile and push off
- The dash is a flat 1917-22 type. It fits fine, but if you REALLY wanted to be correct, it would take the slightly slanted late 22-25 dash. looks exactly the same, but slightly tilted.
- E-Brakes and brakes need adjusted
- My belt knocked off the heads of the little interior buttons on the front seat.  I have extra buttons

Car will need to be picked up in Dayton, Ohio and I can certainly help answer any questions you have. I can take pics of whatever you need too.  I'm also on the MTFCA forum. More pics to come. Thanks!

Ford C-Max, Fusion hybrids subject of MPG lawsuit in California

Fri, 01 Mar 2013

A California lawsuit over the fuel economy claims for the 2013 Ford C-Max was first reported back in December. Based on the numerous reports we've heard of disgruntled owners failing to get their car's EPA fuel economy ratings on the C-Max and 2013 Fusion Hybrid, we suspected there would be more to this story. The Detroit News is reporting that two California law firms are combining their lawsuits against Ford on this matter for "false and misleading" claims.
The article states that there are hundreds of C-Max and Fusion Hybrid owners who have joined the lawsuit, but the issue isn't limited to customers. In December, Consumer Reports extensively tested both the Fusion Hybrid and C-Max and found that both hybrids performed significantly worse than their EPA claims. This all comes just a few months after Hyundai and Kia took the unprecedented step of lowering the fuel economy ratings for all of their 2012 and 2013 model-year vehicles.

Shelby GT500 and Roush Stage 3 go head to head at the drag strip

Wed, 07 Aug 2013

The Ford Mustang is a brilliantly affordable source of horsepower, with a base 300-plus-horsepower version available for well under $30,000. Jumping up to about $35,000 will get you a solid 420 horsepower from a high-revving V8, while those with some extra disposable income can get a pair of 600-plus-horsepower monsters. Both the Roush Stage 3 with its Phase 3 package and Ford's factory Shelby GT500 even crest the 650-horsepower mark, with 675 and 662 ponies, respectively.
Naturally, someone needed to find out which of these hi-po Mustangs was the quickest. And while this video is quite obviously a dealership commercial, at least there's some solid drag racing between two of the most powerful performance machines available for under $100,000.
With two NHRA drag racers at the wheel, the Stage 3 and GT500 go head to head for three races. Scroll down below to see the results in the full video.

Old vs. new debate gets new life with $25,000 Fiesta ST vs. E46 M3 showdown

Fri, 10 Jan 2014

You know who you are. There's probably a few of you reading; the ones that say, "Why would I spend $27,000 on a new Mazda MX-5 when I could get a used Chevrolet Corvette with more power." Yes, we're talking to you, used car proponents. While it is a fair argument, it's not like used cars don't come with drawbacks of their own, though.
In an attempt to put this new-versus-used argument to bed once and for all, Matt Farah of the The Smoking Tire has picked up a pair of $25,000 cars - a used, but lightly modified, 2003 BMW M3 and a 2013 Ford Fiesta ST. Naturally, there's a comparison.
Farah, as he's wont to do, does get into the nitty gritty of what each car is like to drive, and discusses the merits of used and new-car shopping. But as he rightly points out while testing the M3, "So, it is a good car. But like any used car, it really does depend on the individual car."
