Fswerks Stage 2 Turbocharged Ford Focus 2009 on 2040-cars
Monmouth Junction, New Jersey, United States
2009 Ford Focus coupe with FSWERKS stage 2 turbocharger kit installed!! (automatic) shifts clean, but has a sporty manual feel, and in 4th gear automatic boost really kicks in, and you'll feel like your flying.
Did not pass NJ inspection.(Readiness sensors), drives great, alot of torque, quick acceleration when boost kicks in. curvy back roads/byways and hilly roads are its specialty. Fswerks stealth exhaust, H&R springs, New bridgestone potenza tires, relatively new front brakes, FSwerks front stress bar, boost gauge, air/fuel gauge, SCT code reader(plus tunes) Drives great, good fun, easy to drive. Kit in use for a couple years, I just don't feel like dealing with getting past inspection in NJ since I took it to the dmv. Hoods are functional fiberglass RS hood hood vents from the UK, under the hood I custom made ducts to draw out hot turbo and radiator air, while the same time letting any rain water drain over wheel wells away from engine and electrical components, You can feel the hot air coming out of them! This is a value for all the money put in, and extras. I'm the original owner I purchased new from Mcafferty ford in pa. I installed kit and add ons with a mechanical engineer, who did similar work on his Honda SI. If interested in purchasing please contact me about shipping/payment arrangements. I will not pay for shipping, this will need to be coordinated. Payment must be in full. Please consider this product if you are interested in turbo focus', as I want someone to buy this who will enjoy the car and experience like me. |

NHTSA closes Ford F-150 EcoBoost acceleration probe
Mon, 14 Apr 2014Typically when we report on the findings of an investigation from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, it's because the government body has discovered a safety issue and prescribed a recall. In this case, however, NHTSA has closed an investigation into a reported performance deficit without ever getting to the recall stage.
The issue revolves around the Ford F-150 - specifically those equipped with the 3.5-liter EcoBoost engine - of which some 360,000 were built in the 2011, 2012 and 2013 model years. After receiving an initial 95 complaints, NHTSA opened an investigation last May - almost a year ago - into the reported issue of reduced engine power under hard acceleration. The agency has since received a total of 525 such complaints, and Ford itself reported receiving over 4,000.
Together, NHTSA and Ford determined that the problem resulted from cylinders misfiring, an issue itself stemming from water getting into the charge air cooler (CAC) mated to the turbochargers. In particularly humid or rainy conditions, water was found to get into the CAC, causing some of the cylinders to misfire, which in turn triggered the ECU to disable those cylinders in order to protect the catalytic converter from damage.
Ford sued over alleged 3.5-liter EcoBoost defects
Thu, 16 May 2013Three Ford owners from Ohio have filed a lawsuit against the automaker over defects that they allege exist within the company's twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 EcoBoost engine. Automotive News reports that the lawsuit claims the engine "contained serious latent design, manufacturing, or assembly defects." Those defects, the suit claims, cause the vehicle to shake, misfire and lose power quickly.
Two of the plaintiffs, a married couple, own a 2010 Ford Taurus SHO, and allege they experienced a loss of power and stalling, while the third, an F-150 owner, claims he lost power while accelerating. In addition to the Taurus SHO and F-150, the 3.5-liter V6 EcoBoost engine is also available in the Ford Flex, Explorer Sport and Lincoln MKT and MKS. Other three- and four-cylinder EcoBoost engines are not included in the suit. There have been no recalls associated with 3.5-liter V6 engine, and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is currently not investigating the matter.
The plaintiffs, however, claim Ford has known about the problem, citing several technical service bulletins issued to dealers of the F-150 that suggest possible fixes. Ford had no comment for Automotive News, saying that it's yet to review the lawsuit, which was filed last Friday in Columbus, OH.
Shelby GT500 and Roush Stage 3 go head to head at the drag strip
Wed, 07 Aug 2013The Ford Mustang is a brilliantly affordable source of horsepower, with a base 300-plus-horsepower version available for well under $30,000. Jumping up to about $35,000 will get you a solid 420 horsepower from a high-revving V8, while those with some extra disposable income can get a pair of 600-plus-horsepower monsters. Both the Roush Stage 3 with its Phase 3 package and Ford's factory Shelby GT500 even crest the 650-horsepower mark, with 675 and 662 ponies, respectively.
Naturally, someone needed to find out which of these hi-po Mustangs was the quickest. And while this video is quite obviously a dealership commercial, at least there's some solid drag racing between two of the most powerful performance machines available for under $100,000.
With two NHRA drag racers at the wheel, the Stage 3 and GT500 go head to head for three races. Scroll down below to see the results in the full video.
