2005 Ford Freestar Sel, 7 Passenger Van, 4.2l V-6, Garage Kept, Very Clean on 2040-cars
Bensalem, Pennsylvania, United States
$7800 or best offer for a clean, attractive and well maintained, 2005 metallic, light blue Ford Freestar SEL minivan with gray cloth interior. Original owner, garage kept and low miles, as can be seen in the picture of the odometer; 58,195 miles. Note that it may have a few more miles by time of sale, depending on the number of test drives. As noted in the condition section, there are minor cosmetic issues (e.g. scratches in paint and small chips in paint on rear bumper) but it has not required body work or significant repair. Any other service performed on the vehicle has been regular maintenance or warranty work. The van runs well and is very clean. It is considered to be in good to very good condition, per KBB guidelines. It is a 7 passenger vehicle, not 8 passenger, since the 2nd row has 2 cloth captains chairs. The DVD Entertainment system can be viewed by the 2nd and 3rd row passengers. This feature has been wonderful for those long road trips, to keep the kids from getting bored. Other options include a power driver's seat, power front windows, power locks, keyless entry (key pad on driver door) tilt steering wheel, cruise control, power rear venting windows, anti-lock brakes and AM-FM stereo with CD player. The PA inspection is good until October of this year. This vehicle is being sold As-Is and there is no warranty. The seller prefers local pickup but, if the purchases wishes to have the vehicle shipped, the purchaser must arrange and pay for the shipping. Serious bidders only and you must have proof of existing insurance and a valid driver's license prior to taking a test drive. A photo copy of your license and insurance card will be made prior to a test drive but the copy will be returned upon completion of test drive and/or sale of the vehicle. I will also provide the purchaser with an Agreement of Sale, which will help with registering and insuring the vehicle. |

2013 Shelby 1000 unleashes its 1,200 horsepower ahead of NY show reveal
Fri, 22 Mar 2013True story: Last fall, I had the opportunity to spend a week with Ford's new 2013 Shelby GT500 - the Blue Oval's factory Mustang with 662 horsepower and 631 pound-feet of torque. It's an amazing beast, to be sure. I'm not sure if it was Michigan's damp streets strewn with potholes and wet leaves, but at no point did I ever say to myself, "You know, Ford is on to a really good thing here, but what it really needs is about twice the power." And yet, for people in warmer climes with infrastructure in better nick - or for those whose muscle cars live their lives out on the track, there's apparently sufficient demand to warrant just such a beast.
Quick studies will recall that Shelby American launched its 1000 last year to commemorate its 50th anniversary, but it is returning to the New York Auto Show with a fresh version based on the 2013 GT500 I drove. The 2013 Shelby 1000 whips up 1,200 horsepower on pump gas thanks to beefed-up forced induction, engine internals and cooling. Wisely, it also incorporates an adjustable suspension and big brake package to make sure those ponies have the best chance being safely deployed to the ground.
What price the world's most powerful "production" muscle car? $154,995 for starters - donor GT500 not included. What, no convertible variant?
Martin Smith retires, Joel Piaskowski in as Ford Europe design chief
Thu, 29 May 2014The mind behind the look of much of the modern Ford global range is retiring. Martin Smith, Head of Ford Design in Europe, will give up his position on July 1 and will leave the company altogether at the end of the year. He will be replaced by current Strategic Concepts Group leader Joel Piaskowski (pictured above).
Smith has led Ford of Europe design for the past 10 years, and he was partially responsible for the brand's Kinetic Design language with a large grille and swept-back headlights found on the Focus, Fiesta and C-Max, as well as several other vehicles abroad. After stepping down on July 1 until his retirement at the end of 2014, Smith will work on a project to decide the future direction of the company's look with Moray Callum, its vice president of design.
Piaskowski already has some impressive credentials in terms of automotive design as well. He joined Ford in 2010 as director of exterior design and led the teams responsible for the 2015 Ford Mustang and next-generation F-150. He was also previously design director at Ford Asia Pacific. Before working at the Blue Oval, Piaskowski held positions at Mercedes-Benz, Hyundai and General Motors. Scroll down to read the complete announcement of this changing of the guard.
Toyota hangs on to title of world's largest automaker for first half of 2013
Fri, 26 Jul 2013General Motors and Ford can have all the success they please, but it doesn't seem like America's two largest manufacturers are going to topple Toyota in the first half of 2013. According to Reuters, Toyota moved 4.91 million vehicles in the first six months of 2013, representing a 1.1-percent drop from the same period in 2012.
GM is on the rise, though, with a four-percent increase in global sales, to 4.85 million. Volkswagen, still sitting in third, saw a 5.5-percent jump to 4.7 million vehicles in the first half of 2013.
If this pace continues for Toyota, it'll finish 2013 in the top sales spot for the second year in a row. The manufacturer fell to third, behind GM and VW, in 2011 after earthquakes and tsunamis ravaged its production capacity.
