1968 Ford F-100 Custom Cab A/c Automatic Short Bed 360 V8 78,649 Original Miles on 2040-cars

Year:1968 Mileage:78649
Location:

This truck was purchased new in Coolidge AZ in 1968 and remained there. The rear bumper still has the original Dealership sticker on it. It says Alexander Auto Sales Coolidge AZ. The original owner sold this to his friend right before his death seven years ago.His friend was also an older gentleman and did not drive the truck. His family started it and took it for a few rides just to keep the battery charged and the gas fresh. This truck has 78,649 original miles and has a Box A title. It has the 360 V8 with Automatic transmission. It's a short bed with Custom Cab. It has the dealer installed A/C (no such thing as factory a/c in 68) The A/C fan blows good and hard but the compressor does not engage I'm sure it's low on freon. But the compressor turns by hand and feel good. Would be best to convert to the 134 anyways. If I can get my hands on some R12 I'll charge it and update the listing. The original owners manual is still in the glove box. The jack is still mounted under the hood and the jack handle is still behind the seat. The undercarriage looks the same as when it rolled off of the assembly line in 1968. The floor mat is even original. Yes there are some dings and small dents but for a 46 year old truck I'm positive you will never find another truck this rust free and with such low mileage. The tires are weathered and will need to be replace. Those are the original hubcaps. I'm sure i'm forgetting a lot so feel free to email with any questions or send me your phone number or I will send you mine. Will be posting a link to Youtube so you can hear it running and get a better look. Again I seriously doubt you will ever fine another truck in as original condition as this one.

Ford recalling 126,000 Fusions and Milans over wheel separation concern

Fri, 09 Dec 2011

Ford has announced a recall of certain Ford Fusion and Mercury Milan vehicles after an investigation by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. A total of 128,616 2010 and 2011 models equipped with steel wheels may have been manufactured with wheel studs that could crack and split over time. If that happens, the vehicle may experience a wheel separation.
According to The Detroit News, the company is aware of a total of 30 wheel separation incidents, one of which occurred on the front of the vehicle. Even so, no injuries have been reported as a result of the defect.
The problem apparently stems from the fact that the mounting pads on the vehicles' steel wheels may have been faulty from the factory. In addition, the wheel mounting face on rear disc brakes may not have been installed properly. Ford will inspect the rear disc face and replace them as necessary. In addition, the company will replace all of the vehicle's wheel studs free of charge. Head to the NHTSA website for more information, and click past the jump to view the full recall notice.

2015 Ford C-Max gets a corporate nose job [w/video]

Thu, 02 Oct 2014

Ford might not have the splashiest booth here at the 2014 Paris Motor Show, but the automaker is showing off quite a bit of hardware that will actually end up on roads across Europe. Parisians are no doubt tickled at getting to see the specifications of the Mustang tuned for The Continent (which has a revised suspension for European roads, and a few visual nips and tucks), in addition to the revised face of the family-friendly C-Max.
As you can see, C-Max styling has been revisited with a deft touch, grafting Ford's six-sided corporate grille on the nose, in place of the outgoing car's two-part affair. New headlights can also be found on the car's revised front fascia, though the rear end of the C-Max looks only slightly different than the current version.
Inside the cabin, Ford has consolidated controls and upped the ante in terms of material quality, with "black satin" and chrome details and more storage capacity, overall. Grocery-lugging moms and dads everywhere should appreciate the hands-free liftgate feature, as well.

Detroit's new fleet of donated police cars have safety issues [w/video]

Wed, 23 Oct 2013

In a show of generosity in mid-August, Detroit's business leaders donated $8 million to the Police Department and Fire Department in order to buy 100 new police vehicles and 23 EMS ambulances. But now officers have discovered - and complained - that the police vehicles have glaring safety issues, Deadline Detroit reports. It is not made clear what models of the fleet vehicles - which include police versions of the Ford Taurus, the Chevrolet Caprice and the Dodge Charger - are affected by the safety issues.
Officers reportedly have complained that the Plexiglass partition separating front-seat officers and back-seat prisoners is easily breached, and that the front passenger seat is installed too close to the dashboard. Prisoners who manage to writhe out of their handcuffs can bend the Plexiglass and reach into the cockpit, and sitting too close to the dashboard can render airbags more dangerous and make officers more vulnerable to injury in a crash.
Mark Diaz, president of the Detroit Police Officers Association, received the complaints and reportedly said the vehicles would get safety updates addressing the issues. But Deadline Detroit reports that it checked some of the offending police cars and, as of the last few days, they hadn't been updated.
