1969 Dodge Charger R/T SE, ....a real XS29L9  R/T with the rare "SE" Option.

Black(X9) with Black Vinyl Roof(AO1), Tan Interior, PS, PB, Tinted Glass, Stripe Delete, Original #'s Matching 440 Magnum Engine(un-rebuilt & never been out of the Car) and 727 HD Automatic Transmission, 3.23 Geared Posi-Traction 8 3/4" Differential, all Original Sheet Metal with one repaint in 1986(Black again),and minor fix-ups back then in 1986, small town British Columbia Canada Car, never hit and very straight body with only minor rock chips. Trunk Floor, Drops, Pans, Frame Rails, Door Lips, all original and in decent shape. It Runs and Drives very well, and the original 440 Magnum can still Roast the tires at will, the Automatic shifts very crisp, no loose Steering Parts, the Brakes feel somewhat "touchy" but I think it is because they are 4 Wheel Drum power assisted ? Stops just fine though. Fender Tag is there and supports everything on the Car...although I have NOT looked for a Broadcast Sheet...no reason to believe it isn't there somewhere ? somebody will probably ask...so I guess I'll take a look, and hope I don't damage anything in the process...stay tuned.

These Cars in this condition, are getting extremely tough to find...most either rusted away to nothing, were beat to death by Hippies, got smashed or written off, and the ones still left... were either "Restored" or "Cloned" into something they were NOT...or never WILL BE.

Makes no sense to me why anybody would spend many Tens of Thousands "restoring" a lesser Charger ? or "Clone" one...... and when done...still not have either the Rarity, Factory Color Options, or Numbers present in this Original R/T SE  from new to retain it's Investment Value.    It was Family owned for decades, and was basically very well maintained, as evidenced by the original & powerful 440 "Magnum" Engine that wasn't abused, Blown up, and still doesn't smoke.      I don't know what a "Survivor" Car is ? or what qualifies as one ?....or if this can be called a "Survivor" Car...because as I said earlier it had a "repaint" and some "fix-ups" in 1986....ALL I DO KNOW....is that it is about as "close it gets" to that Survivor "status" as something that was owned, and DRIVEN, with appropriate care & regular maintenance along the way.

The only "problems" would be the original Gas Tank will need replaced at some point ? and the Sending Unit as the gas gauge quit working ? The car did sit for a period of years, and even though it was garaged, I believe the inside of the tank is "rusty" because it was plugging up the pickup in the tank. It has a small electric pump wired under the hood to help overcome this problem, seems to work fine now and can be driven, but it is not "right" as the Car obviously deserves to be repaired properly with a New Tank & Sending Unit back on the stock pump. Both are available aftermarket.

I noticed the Right Rear Axle Seal is sweating a bit onto the backing plate, it doesn't seem to affect anything, but should be done at some point I guess ?

The Windshield Washer Reservoir has a hole in it, Never tried it, so I don't know if the pump works ? Both available aftermarket.

The Hood Mounted Turn Indicators work fine, but the plastic tangs are broken so maybe loose a bit ? They are available aftermarket.

Ask any questions and I will try and answer as best I can, or send your email for more specific photos requested.

I reserve the right to cancel this E-Bay auction at any time, if Vehicle Sold due to being listed locally outside E-Bay.

Car can be delivered to Eureka Montana 59917 for U.S.A. Buyers, however, all export/import papers are the responsibility of the Buyer, although I will assist those efforts, .....Canadians can drive it away home.

Buyer says Dodge dealer gave him wrong Charger, failed to notice for 2 months

Wed, Dec 31 2014

Mistakes happen, and they happen all the time. But when that mistake means a customer doesn't get what he or she paid for, something's gotta give. That's what one Dodge Charger buyer claims he is trying to sort out with his local dealership. Two months after taking delivery, the owner (going by the user name Dakrbouncer4689 on Reddit) says he got a call from his local Dodge dealership reporting a little problem. He had ordered and paid for the Charger SXT (pictured above on the dealer lot), but was given a Charger SE instead. The SE being the lower trim level, this presented one set of problems – namely a $2,000 discrepancy in equipment, like a five-speed automatic versus an eight-speed, a 4.3-inch infotainment display instead of 8.4, heated seats, leather steering wheel, premium audio, remote starter and so on. The second set of issues is that the VIN number on the paperwork (including the registration and insurance papers) of course doesn't match that of the car itself. The dealer, having obviously made a rather large mistake, apparently called the owner in to sort out the mess, but according to the customer's account, things didn't go as smoothly. Instead of immediately working to address the problem, the salesman kept the owner waiting, acted like it was no big deal, and offered only to swap the cars with no compensation for the trouble. Fortunately, the manager proved more sympathetic and apologetic, and offered the customer three options: he could swap the cars (re-doing the tinted windows on the SXT that the customer had done on the SE and throwing in leather seats for free), he could keep the SE (with the dealership handling the paperwork, throwing in the leather seats, adjusting the price and refunding an extra $400), or they could cancel everything, return the car and part company. As we go to press, the Charger owner had yet to make (or at least share) his decision. But while the principle of caveat emptor makes us wonder how he managed to take home a different car from the one he paid for, clearly the salesman and the dealership made a pretty large mistake by presenting him with the wrong set of keys and letting him off the lot without double checking it all. Dodge Challenger outsold Mustang, Camaro in third quarter of 2019

Fri, Oct 4 2019

The Dodge Challenger is nearly old enough to start driver's ed in some states, and it doesn't have a firm grasp on the increasingly crucial concept of downsizing, yet it beat the odds to become the most popular American two-door model during the third quarter of 2019. Its ballooning sales figures suggest buyers don't always want the latest, most advanced car they can get their hands on. Dodge sold 18,031 examples of the Challenger during the third quarter of 2019, a shocking 21% increase over the same period in 2018. It's a true muscle car, normally sardined in the same can as the Chevrolet Camaro and the Ford Mustang, a pair of smaller, nimbler two-doors that are much closer to the historic definition of a pony car. Semantics aside, the Mustang finished on the second spot of the sales podium with 16,823 sales, a 12.3% drop compared to the third quarter of 2018, and the Camaro took third with 12,275 sales, a 15% dip that alarmingly comes in the wake of two redesigns. More specific sales figures aren't available. We don't know what percentage of the sales mix V8s represent, or whether buyers prefer manual or automatic transmissions. The scoreboard looks different when we examine 2019's year-to-date figures. The Mustang takes first place with 55,365 sales, followed by the Challenger at 46,699, and the Camaro at 36,791. While the Challenger's recent ascent is encouraging, it can't mask the fact that two-door models no longer enjoy a favorable tailwind, and the entire segment — not just the American entries — is declining. The aforementioned year-to-date figures are down by 10.1, 11, and 7.6 percent, respectively. The third-quarter statistics revealed a handful of other surprises unrelated to the world of performance. Dodge notably sold three examples of the Dart, a sedan it hasn't built since 2016. That's a 93% drop compared to the 45 units that found a home during the third quarter of 2018.

2019 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat is getting a meaner hood

Wed, May 2 2018

Though we weren't really worried Dodge would discontinue it, we're glad to hear the Dodge Challenger Hellcat will continue into the 2019 model year. It's also getting some updates for the new year, as shown in these teasers from Dodge. The biggest one we can see is the hood, which trades the relatively subtle center scoop and dual heat extractors for a pair of big angry nostrils. Dodge says the twin hood scoops are a throwback to past Dodge performance models, take the Dart Swinger, for example. They also bring to mind some mid- to late-2000s Pontiacs, but we'll try to focus on the classic Mopars. A little bit of Photoshop work helps highlight some other aspects of the 2019 Challenger Hellcat. The Hellcat Widebody will clearly continue for the new year, too, as the vehicle in the teaser image has the bulging arches found on that Challenger as well as the one-year-only Demon. We can also make out five-spoke wheels that may have split spokes. Most of the body looks like the current model, too, so we don't expect any major changes to the chassis or powertrain. The only other information Dodge revealed about the 2019 Challenger is that more information will come this summer. So expect to hear more in just a few months.
