I am selling a 1968 Ford Mustang Coupe project car that was born on April 16,1968 in Dearborn Michigan. It was the 180,214th Mustang produced in the year 1968. The original exterior color is Acapulco Blue Metallic. The original interior was light blue crinkle vinyl with dark blue kiwi vinyl. It is a "C code" car, meaning it has the 289 V8 with the 2V carburetor. The transmission is the C4 automatic transmission. It has a 2.79:1 rear end gear ratio. The rear shocks are air adjustable. The car was running and driving a couple months ago. It turns over but it is currently NOT running. But we strongly believe the engine should be able to run fairly easy. We believe the problem is it needs a new ignition coil and points. There is some rust. Floor pans will need to be patched in places and replaced in other spots, possible quarter panel replacement, battery tray will need to be replaced. On the bright side, the front and rear frame rails appear to be strong as well as the trunk floor and the seat risers. Tires hold air and the brakes are not locked up and they are working, so loading onto a trailer will not be a problem. All parts are there except for some interior pieces. Some minor bodywork has been started on the fenders. This is a GREAT PROJECT CAR that is NOT running but should not take much at all to have her running as we had her running and driving like a champ just a couple of months ago. Again, this car is a solid foundation for a project. Asking $2,500 or best cash offer. Sold as is with no warranty. Bill of sale only. I hold the right to end auction early as I am also selling it locally. $500.00 deposit due within 3 days and remaining balance and pickup within 7 days.

Officially Official: Chevrolet replaces Daewoo name in Korea

There once was a time when Daewoo was one of the biggest companies in South Korea. It was larger than both LG and Samsung, and second only to Hyundai. But these days the name is all but gone.

The story of the 2014 Chevrolet SS: "Luxury, power, refinement, handling"

Thu, 07 Mar 2013

Not including the women and men who built it, the 2014 Chevrolet SS has only been seen in person by a piddling number of people - fewer humans than would fill the gymnasium at a high school volleyball game. Not including the men and women who built it, no one has driven it. Even so, it is already saddled with two controversies: the way it looks and the way it shifts.
First to that shifting. Did we love the last Americanized Holden, the awesomely sportsome Pontiac G8 GXP, and its six-speed manual? Of course. Do we wish the SS came with a six-speed manual? Of course. But we'd like a toboggan to come with a manual transmission. We'd put a manual transmission on a weasel if we could because we're just wired that way; if it moves, it should come with a stick and a clutch. Or at least the option.
Let's climb down off the ledge, though. We haven't driven the SS and we have no idea how good (or not) the automatic is. And the Hobson's Choice in transmissions when it comes to sport sedans like the BMW M5, Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG and Jaguar XFR-S and, oh yeah, cars-that-really-should-have-manuals like the Audi R8 and Nissan GT-R and Porsche 918 and every single Lamborghini and Ferrari, for instance, hasn't stopped us from enjoying what is clearly the gruesome, dual-clutched demise of Western automotive civilization. Because in spite of our ululations at the dying of the six-speed light, we understand.

Callaway debuts its new C7 Stingray at National Corvette Museum

Fri, 02 May 2014

Callaway showed off its first tuned version of the 2014 Corvette Stingray at the National Corvette Museum last week, giving the rampant enthusiasts of America's sports car a look at the roughly 620-horsepower, supercharged rocket.
Unlike the Corvette SC610 we showed you back in January, this Stingray packs a fair bit more oomph. Horsepower is only up ten ponies, but torque has jumped from 556 pound-feet to "at least" 600 pound-feet. Neither horsepower nor torque is official quite yet, although Callaway is expecting to know just what its creation can do once testing and validation is completed later this month.
The 6.2-liter, supercharged V8 now boasts a new, three-element intercooler, which Callaway claims only allowed the inlet air temperature to increase by ten degrees Fahrenheit during dyno runs. Previous designs saw a 35-degree-Fahrenheit jump. The exhaust system has also been fettled with, and now is even less restrictive.
