2006 Chevrolet Colorado
2.8L VORTEC I4 Engine

Lots of extras!

Im selling my 2006 Chevy Colorado 2-Door Regular Cab. I am the original owner and have the clear title in hand ready for transfer. I have the original sticker price which was at $17,085! I Have put about 8,500 miles a year on the truck for a total of about a low 79k miles. It has the sought after black original paint job with grey interior.
I recently moved to New York from Florida and bought a new car for my growing family. Since I never registered the truck in NY I garaged it for about 7 months. Now Im selling because I don't see myself using the truck anymore. The rust free truck runs very good, starts up right away and the motor has absolutely no leaks!
It has the Fuel injected 2.8L I4 VORTEC Engine. Automatic Electronic Transmission. It has a GVW rating of 4850 lb. and a 3.73 rear axle ratio. I added some extras to the truck that I will mention further down.

It has Power Rack and Pinion Steering, Independent Front Suspension, 2 Stage rear leaf springs, front disc rear drum brakes. It has a 19.5 Gallon Fuel tank with a really good 23 mpg highway for those long road trips, but im getting over 25mpg with the new upgrades recently installed. For Safety and Security the truck has Dual stage front Air Bags w/ Passenger Sensing System, 4 Wheel anti-lock brakes, Daytime running Lamps with Auto Headlamps, latch child restraints and a passlock theft deterrent system. Interior has a 60/40 Split Bench Seat, Air conditioning, full vinyl flooring which is great for dirty shoes, easy to clean up! , Driver information center, Tachometer, Cruise control/tilt steering wheel.

The Bad:
-The truck has a dent on the rear right panel. A car was backing up and didn't see my parked truck. The dent honestly never bothered me so I never had it fixed. (See pics its really not that bad)
-The truck has a shopping cart scratch on the door. The truck bed inside walls have scratches throughout (I used to use it a lot).
- There is a small rock chip (dime size) on the windshield.
- When I recently started the truck up again, every once in a while when making a right turn or braking hard coming to a stop the truck sounds like it wants to stall. It did not do this before I garaged the car. I called chevy and inquired about the problem and they said most likely the throttle body needs to be cleaned and/or the spark plugs need to be replaced. The check engine light is NOT on so it should be an easy fix.
- The A.C. also stopped working on settings 1-3 but blows ice cold on setting 4. It didn't do this before I garaged the truck.

- The truck has an in-dash DVD/CD player indash TV installed but the faceplate with the buttons was pushed in to hard one day and thus you cant reach the buttons (needs to be refurbished). Although it does have an Aux Cable installed so you can connect your MP3 player to it and listen to music just fine.

THE GOOD:
Truck has a lot of new extras:
- Brand New Tonneu Bed Cover, which works nicely with the locking truck bed door! Improves the aerodynamics of the truck which helps improve gas mileage. The bed also Has a GM heavy duty mat that helps protect the bed floor.
- Brand New High Flow Electric Pull Fan, Professionally installed at chevy. Lengthens the life of the water pump and improves gas mileage and hp.
- Brand New K&N Cold Air Intake system, Improves gas mileage and hp.
- Goodyear Wrangler All Weather Radial White Letter Tires. They have about 90% thread left. They are larger than stock, so the truck has a nice higher ride.
- I did the 60k maintenance so the car has all new breaks and fluid all done at chevy.
- The door windows and rear window have limo tint on it which helps keep the truck cool.
- All maintenance, oil changes exc. done at chevy dealership. So the truck has all records of how well its been maintained.

Shipping:

Shipping cost is the responsibility of the buyer. I can help with finding a shipper for you. The car is located in New York, Zip Code 11727
I did a quick search on google and saw a quote for about $1000 From New York to Los Angeles, California So shipping should be anywhere around that quote.

This is a No reserve auction for a great and clean truck. GOOD LUCK!

GM recalling over 243,000 crossovers over possible seat belt defect

Tue, 17 Aug 2010

2010 Buick Enclave - Click above for high-res image gallery
The summer of 2010's recall hit parade continues unabated today, with General Motors having just announced that it is asking 243,403 owners of its 2009-2010 Lambda crossovers to bring their three-row haulers in for inspection. The culprit? Second-row seat belts in select Buick Enclave, Chevrolet Traverse, GMC Acadia, and Saturn Outlook CUVs have "failed to perform properly in a crash."
According to GM, a second-row seat-side trim piece is to blame, as it can impede the upward rotation of the buckle after the seat is folded flat. As a result, if the buckle makes contact with the seat frame, cosmetic damage can occur, potentially requiring additional force to operate the buckle properly. So far, no great shakes, but in the process of applying that additional force, the occupant may push the buckle cover down to the strap, potentially revealing and depressing the red release button. As a result of this, the belt may not latch, or in certain cases, it may actually appear to be latched when, in fact, it isn't.

Why the Corvette is Chevrolet's billion-dollar baby

Thu, 28 Feb 2013

Edmunds has worked up a piece that tries to figure out just how much the global Chevrolet Corvette economy is worth, a spitballed guesstimate putting the number at more than $2.5 billion with the proviso that the number is probably low. It starts by taking Corvette's new car sales of 14,132 units last year, which would equate to $714,725,900 (including destination) assuming ever car sold was a base coupe with no options. In the final tally, a little extra padding gets that number up to $750,000,000.
But that's not all. Consider this: Many of the almost 1.4 million Corvettes produced over the model's history are still on the road. There are new parts being produced and aftermarket companies like Mid-America Motorworks deaing business, that single Illinois company doing more than $40 million a year in sales. There are the Corvette events large and small, restorers who do nothing but Corvettes, salvage yards that deal only in used Corvette parts and the Corvette magazines where owners find all this stuff.
And then there are the Corvette-themed tchotchkes, every single one of which provides a tiny contribution to the huge licensing royalties that General Motors collects every year. The article admits there's no way to come to an accurate number, but it just goes to show how valuable one specific model can be to a company.

Are you the 2014 Corvette Grand Sport?

Thu, 21 Feb 2013

When are stripes more than just stripes? Follow up question: Is the product development team at Chevrolet really cocky enough to hide the next C7 Corvette variant in plain sight? This very recently spotted, and ostensibly obscured C7 asks a lot more questions than it answers, but there's at least some evidence to support that it might be the next Corvette Grand Sport.
The first and most obvious tip-off that something is up with this 'Vette revolves around those silver stripes. Obviously the stripes themselves don't necessarily denote a new model. However, when Chevy recently launched its "colorizer" website for the Stingray, there was no provision made for racing stripes - solid colors only.
Grand Sport exhibit number two is actually an incriminating lack of badges. The production Corvettes we've seen to date have all carried Stingray badges on their fenders, just behind the vent. The car seen in these images has no such badges, which is an intriguing omission on an car that looks like a production-spec vehicle otherwise.
