2008 Chevrolet Cobalt Ss Coupe 2-door 2.0l on 2040-cars
Darien, Illinois, United States
This is a great car. Love the thing to death, but it is time to move on to bigger and better. I have taken absolute meticulous care of this car. It is my daily, but I always parked it in a garage. Waxed once every couple of weeks as well. The car gets an obnoxious amount of attention not just because it sounds like a genuine race car, but also because it looks good. The car has had two owners, and has a CLEAN carfax, which I can show you. Price is negotiable. Here are some specs:
In terms of engine: The stock LNF engine is a 2.0L turbo Additions: ZZ Performance downpipe and 3 inch exhaust(Sounds awesome, have a video upon request) Injen cold air intake Visual: Carbon fiber hood (has some damage, bought it used however not very noticeable) ~300 Eibach lowering Springs Custom headlights ~200 Painted the top part of the stock wing ~50 Red LED's in the grill Plasti dipped stock hood and front bumper ~300 Badge removal (Cobalt badge and GM badge) Interior: Wiring for subs and amp (subs and amp not included in price listed) ~50 The sound system works fantastic, I bought it a week ago and had it professionally installed the same day at Car Toys. We can work it into the price, or take it out if you like. Same really goes for any add ons I have. The car I'm guessing with all the mods and tune is around 300-310 HP. That's solely based on approximation, I have not had it dyno'd. However I still make about 22 mpg driving it daily. The current mileage is 78,012 however that will go up. |

Use this PowerPoint when convincing your spouse to let you buy a Corvette
Thu, 14 Feb 2013When you are not the one in charge of the purse strings, creativity is a must when trying to get the string-holder to bankroll that next shiny object you just can't live without.
When I was a kid, I decided that life wasn't worth living if it weren't in pursuit of owning a GMC Typhoon. My 12-year-old self crafted a fiscal strategy that, when combined with my offer of a 49-percent share of ownership in the car in return for my parents' contribution of 80-percent of the purchase price, would see me behind the wheel of a Typhoon by the time I hit college. They walked away from the negotiating table and, the economic climate of the 8th grade being what it was at the time, another partner wasn't found before the Typhoon was discontinued.
Roy El-Rayes, however, has succeeded where 12-year-old me failed, and he did it by using the sort of professionalism that only a PowerPoint presentation can provide, along with some humor and bold-faced flattery.
Pics Aplenty: Meet the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra [w/poll]
Thu, 13 Dec 2012Today was a pretty big day for General Motors, debuting the all-new Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra light-duty pickup trucks ahead of their official showcase at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show. And now that the dust has settled at GM's big reveal event, we've had a chance to snap dozens of photos of the new pickup pair from every angle.
We already told you the important bits earlier today (click here in case you missed it), but let's recap. Under the hood are three new engines - a 4.3-liter V6, 5.3-liter V8 and 6.2-liter V8 (you know, a version of the small-block that'll also be found under the hood of the C7 Corvette), all mated to six-speed automatic transmissions. The 2014 model year marks the return of the Z71 off-road package with Rancho shocks, front tow hooks and beefier underbody protection. Inside, there's a host of new technology and a greater focus on better quality and refinement.
Some of the nitty-gritty specifics (like engine output numbers and fuel economy) have yet to be revealed, and since we haven't driven the finished products yet, it's hard to say how these trucks will fare against rivals like the Ram 1500 and Ford F-150. For now, we can only judge these two books by their covers, and while we do like the designs of the new trucks, we Autoblog staffers are torn on exactly which one looks best.
800k car names trademarked globally, suddenly alphanumerics seem reasonable
Tue, 01 Oct 2013What's in a name? This cliched phrase probably gets tossed out at every marketing meeting that happens when a new car gets its nomenclature. We know the answer, though: everything. The name of a car has all the potential to make or break it with fickle customers that are more conscious than ever about what their purchases say about them.
That's giving headaches to marketing folks across the automotive industry. "It's tough. In 1985 there were about 75,000 names trademarked in the automotive space. Today there are 800,000," Chevrolet's head of marketing, Russ Clark, told Automotive News. Infiniti's president, Johan de Nysschen, echoed Clark's sentiment, saying, "The truth of the matter is, across the world, there is hardly a name or a letter that hasn't already been claimed by one car manufacturer or another. You can go through the alphabet - A, B, C and so forth - and you will quickly see that almost all available letters are taken."
What has that left automakers to do? Get creative. In the case of Infiniti, it made the controversial move to bring all of its cars' names into a new scheme, classifying them as Q#0 for cars and QX#0 for SUVs and crossovers. So the Infiniti G, which was available as the G25 and G37, is now the Q50. The FX37 and FX50 are now the QX70.
