1977 Chevy K-5 Blazer Chalet. 2nd owner truck, still have original pink slip. 39,000 original miles. Motor is a 400ci w/400 turbo trans. 4wd w/Posi rear end.  This truck is immaculate inside and out. The hood is the only defect w/ slight rust. Bought a new hood but didn't want to install since everything else is original. All appliances work inside(fridge, heater, stove, sink) Has factory off-road package the came with skid plates to cover front and rear differential. Also has drain is gas tank for making wicks to start campfires.

Since purchase have added flat screen tv, backup camera, full sound system, rear steps, rear rack and BBQ. Just installed 5 new general tires on original wheels that were installed from dealer at original purchase. New radiator, carb rebuilt, 2 new batteries w/ new battery inverter, all new battery cables, a/c has been updated, MSD distributer w/MSD wires. All new belts and hoses, brakes. New flow master exhaust, that was tucked up so wouldn't scrape if truck was taken off-road. There is nothing that needs to be done to this truck.

These are rare trucks, especially in excellent condition. There aren't many left that are unmolested in original condition. I have taken a lot of time and pride into this truck. We take it to the beach every weekend and pop the top and enjoy with the family.

Truck is sold as is w/ no warranties expressed or implied. Truck is for sale locally and can be seen in Oceanside. Please contact 760-433-3722 if you have any questions. Thanks

GM warning 800,000 owners that their cars may need oil changes more frequently than they say

Fri, 05 Apr 2013

The days of changing your engine oil every 3,000 miles are long gone thanks to most cars having automatic oil monitoring systems, but about 800,000 General Motors vehicles apparently have incorrect monitoring software that is leading to premature engine component wear. According to Autoweek, certain 2010-2012 Buick LaCrosse, Regal, Chevrolet Equinox and GMC Terrain models equipped with 2.4-liter four-cylinder engines could be going too long in between oil changes resulting in a higher-than-normal number of warranty claims for the engine's balance chain. The balance chain links the balance shaft to the crankshaft, and a worn one can produce higher noise levels.
As a fix, GM dealers will be reprogramming the software for the monitors in an effort to reduce the interval between oil changes, which varies based on driving habits and conditions. Through February 2015, the software update will be done at no cost to vehicle owners, but since this is not a recall, after that point, it will be up to the discretion of dealers as to whether or not they will charge for the service. What isn't immediately clear is whether GM plans on giving assistance to out-of-warranty customers who are experiencing engine issues from the worn chain.

Race Recap: 2013 Indianapolis 500 better than Bollywood; all the emotion, none of the music [spoilers]

Mon, 27 May 2013

If the 2013 Indy 500 were a movie it would be the one expected to win all the little statues come awards season, and if it were an athlete it would have made spectators watch in awe as it broke record after record. And this kind of talk comes after last year's race was considered one of the best ever - the last lap hijinks in 2012 and Takuma Sato's crash leading to a podium ceremony straight out of a Golden Globes tearjerker.
But this year's race delivered more than anyone expected, from the 250,000 fans to the commentators to the IndyCar series itself and, finally, to the guy who hopped through a two-mile window on Lap 197 to take the lead and keep it until the end.

Survey says $25k barrier is a problem for EVs

Sun, 01 Dec 2013

The majority of consumers are more or less priced out of the market.
Electric cars are gaining popularity with the general public, but are they still too expensive? According to a survey 1,084 consumers by Navigant Research, a consulting firm located in Boulder, CO, 71 percent want their next car to cost under $25,000, while 41 percent won't go a cent above $20K. Looks like people are even thriftier than we'd originally thought.
