This is a dream car - I know this is the oldest story told by used car sales people, but in this case it is TRUE!

This beauty was owned by a local nurse from 1965 - 1981. She was not married, had no kids, and No one has ever sat in the back seat!!! True story.

I am an antiques dealer, not a used car sales person; check my feedback for details of my sales history. I am listing this car for a wonderful couple who are downsizing their lives.

I have a copy of the original bill of sale - the car was purchased on Jan. 15th, 1965 for $3,047.00!

I have the copies of all work performed on this car since 1981, when the current owner purchased it.

Since 1981 the car has been driven only 3,000 miles!

  • The car has hard to find, original parts- the original glass bottle located inside of the engine compartment for additional windshield fluid, (see photo), the original front floor mats - see photo of the mats in the trunk.

The black convertible top is perfect and original.

The rear window was replaced.

The windshield was replaced.

1 quarter panel was replaced in 1985.

The only body work this car has had was done in 1985. Some rust holes in the wheel wells, trunk, and 2 panels were repaired, along with the 2nd rust proofing, quarter panel replacement and painting.

2014 Chevrolet C7 Corvette wastes no time zooming into Jay Leno's Garage

Thu, 24 Jan 2013

Where else would you expect the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray to show up first? Although this time it isn't exactly in Jay Leno's Garage, Leno instead playing an away game at Brown's Classic Auto in Scottsdale, Arizona. Nor does Leno drive the car, instead taking an 11-minute walkaround of the new American sports car with General Motors design head Ed Welburn, the same man who recently brought by a string of classic Corvettes to the talk show host's California compound.
It is, admittedly, a love-fest for the American sports car now featuring 450 horsepower and 450 pound-feet of torque, but one that also features admissions about previous Corvette seats like "they were kinda rough," and the explanation that labeling the coupe "Stingray" means not having to call it "the base Corvette." On top of that, Welburn also explains the proper application of the term "dashboard." You can watch it all in the video below.

Silverado HD, Touareg V10 TDI face off in diesel tug-of-war

Sun, 30 Dec 2012

A couple weeks ago, we watched a Chevrolet Silverado get dominated by a Dodge Ram Heavy Duty in a fullsize pickup tug-of-war, but in that truck's defense, Chevy's Vortec gas engine was no match for the torquey Cummins turbo diesel. For our next round of vehicular tug-of-war, a Duramax-powered Silverado HD takes on Volkswagen Touareg V10 TDI.
Now, on paper, putting the Duramax V8's 365 horsepower and 660 pound-feet of torque up against the V10's 310 hp and 553 lb-ft looks like an easy win for the Bowtie, but unfortunately, this battle has a similar result as the Dodge versus Chevy video, with the Silverado smoking its tires trying to move forward as it gets pulled backwards. Put another way: YouTube 2, Chevy Silverado 0.
It just goes to show, though, that big tires, bolt-on fender flares and goofy smoke stacks don't improve your towing abilities. Besides, what did the Silverado driver expect when the Touareg V10 TDI has towed a Boeing 747 in the past?
