Selling my 1977 chevy caprice aerocoupe. If your looking at this car, you probably already know that these cars are getting harder to find and are rare. That being said, this one is a blast to drive!! It's FAST and LOUD!!

Drivetrain:

Has a built 400 sbc, .040 over with a 700r4 w/ overdrive. World products heads, comp cam .501/.501, 292 /292 duration, 11:1 compression. ARP rod bolts. Transpro programming kit, Raybestos clutches, 3000 stall converter, 4:10 gears with auburn locking rear differential. Motor was done about 6 years ago, trans was done about 8 months ago. Motor has about 12k miles on it, trans has about 1500 miles on it. Has flow master 40 series mufflers too. This thing is a nice driving machine!!

Exterior/ interior

Can use a repaint, it was done long ago, and the clear coat has come off in places. It's not the end of the world, it looks like a rat rod...drives like a hot rod!  The interior is good for the age, the headliner is held up with tacs, these headliners commonly sag. The seat currently in the car is an incorrect bench seat (probably out of a caprice sedan),  but I have a correct split bench with an armrest. Windows are manual crank, and no power locks.

Underside:

Only 2 small areas of rust. I would call it not bad, more of a drainage problem these cars must have had. The 2 spots are on the frame near the rear trailing arms, on either side of the frame--roughly 4" by 1". They are in the same spot, on opposite sides of the frame. Otherwise, a couple of minor surface rust spots here and there, nothing to write home about. The rest of the frame is beautiful, as is the floor pans. No disappointments on the condition of the underside.

I have a youtube video of it running:

Not interested in trades, please email me with questions. Drive the car home! Clear Maryland title. If your still reading...I'm also selling a 64 impala coupe LT1 engine with 4l60e trans.mthe exterior and interior are original unrestored. It's a project car, I can send pics upon request. I don't plan on relisting this car several times so if it doesn't sell keep my email...let's deal

Steve McQueen's last movie car, now Pawn Stars-owned, up for auction [w/video]

Sun, 03 Feb 2013

The last car Steve McQueen ever drove in a movie is officially up for auction. The 1951 Chevrolet Styline DeLuxe Convertible you see above is now owned by none other than Rick Harrison of Pawn Stars fame, but once ferried McQueen around the set of his last film, 1980's The Hunter. That flick saw the Bullit star play a bumbling bounty hunter and didn't exactly set the box office on fire. McQueen bought the car after production wrapped, and four years later it sold at his estate sale at the Imperial Palace in Las Vegas.
Flash forward to 2003, and the convertible received a full restoration back to near-stock specifications. Hagerty Insurance estimates the car to be worth around $45,000 without the significant providence. Given its ties to one of film's most popular gearheads, the old Chevrolet could fetch up to 10 times that when it goes under the gavel in Ft Luaderdale, Florida on March 22. You can head over to the Auctions America site for more information. You can also check out the trailer for The Hunter below.

Use this PowerPoint when convincing your spouse to let you buy a Corvette

When you are not the one in charge of the purse strings, creativity is a must when trying to get the string-holder to bankroll that next shiny object you just can't live without.
When I was a kid, I decided that life wasn't worth living if it weren't in pursuit of owning a GMC Typhoon. My 12-year-old self crafted a fiscal strategy that, when combined with my offer of a 49-percent share of ownership in the car in return for my parents' contribution of 80-percent of the purchase price, would see me behind the wheel of a Typhoon by the time I hit college. They walked away from the negotiating table and, the economic climate of the 8th grade being what it was at the time, another partner wasn't found before the Typhoon was discontinued.
Roy El-Rayes, however, has succeeded where 12-year-old me failed, and he did it by using the sort of professionalism that only a PowerPoint presentation can provide, along with some humor and bold-faced flattery.
