Year:1991 Mileage:177570

Tolland, Connecticut, United States

Clear title. Currently used as an unregistered snow plow during the winter and a yard truck in the summer. Was last registered in my name in 2010 and passed emissions back then. Roof rack. Meyer 4-way plow. Rotating amber roof light. New alternator, windshield wiper motor and battery. All tires in good condition. Wipers and lights work fine. No back seat. Starts every time, even in sub-zero weather.   Not to be registered or used on the public highways unless the new owner upgrades the safety features. Needs a new muffler and tail pipe, plus replacement of the gasoline sending unit. Paint blisters here and there and a rusted out section on the left behind the driver's door (see photos). Bent rear bumper. Priced accordingly.

Selling because I'm buying a new car and will be using my 98 Jeep to plow the yard from now on. This Blazer will keep you out of the wind and snow in the winter as your neighbors shovel. Could make a great summer project to get ready for the winter.  We welcome inspection before bidding.  Please note: if you bid on the Blazer you must tender a non-refundable deposit of 100.00 within 24 hours of auction close and pay the balance with in 7 days.  If no deposit is received within 24 hours, or the balance is not paid within 7 days, the deposit will be forfeited and  the car will go to the next bidder or be re-listed.  This car will need to be transported on a trailer as it is not currently registered.  I will give the buyer 21 days of free storage to allow them to make arrangements.   After 21 days, a storage fee must be collected at the rate of $10.00 per day.  Questions? Please call me at (860) 578-6687.  Call any time.  I'm friendly!

Use this PowerPoint when convincing your spouse to let you buy a Corvette

Thu, 14 Feb 2013

When you are not the one in charge of the purse strings, creativity is a must when trying to get the string-holder to bankroll that next shiny object you just can't live without.
When I was a kid, I decided that life wasn't worth living if it weren't in pursuit of owning a GMC Typhoon. My 12-year-old self crafted a fiscal strategy that, when combined with my offer of a 49-percent share of ownership in the car in return for my parents' contribution of 80-percent of the purchase price, would see me behind the wheel of a Typhoon by the time I hit college. They walked away from the negotiating table and, the economic climate of the 8th grade being what it was at the time, another partner wasn't found before the Typhoon was discontinued.
Roy El-Rayes, however, has succeeded where 12-year-old me failed, and he did it by using the sort of professionalism that only a PowerPoint presentation can provide, along with some humor and bold-faced flattery.

Watch this creative way to pull a truck's engine

Fri, 08 Mar 2013

Living in an apartment complex has its benefits, but for shade-tree mechanics who like/need to work on their own cars, it definitely has a number of disadvantages. Relatively simple tasks such as brake jobs and oil changes are difficult when you don't have dedicated driveway space, to say nothing of more in-depth repairs... like pulling an engine, for example.
For these types of challenges, a little ingenuity and plenty of muscle are needed to get the job done. Scroll down to watch these four men snatch the V8 out of a Chevrolet K1500 using nothing but a chain, landscape timber and good ol' fashioned brute strength. Good work, gentlemen.

Watch the live reveal of the 2014 Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra [UPDATE]

Thu, 13 Dec 2012

UPDATE: The trucks have been revealed. Click here for all of the official details.
As promised, Chevrolet and GMC are offering a live webcast of the world premiere for the all-new 2014 Silverado 1500 and Sierra 1500. After being teased with spy shots and blurry images like the one above for ages, now is the time to see the trucks in the metal, for real (well, as 'real' as it gets on a webcast, at any rate).
Shift your eyes down just below to see the reveal as it happens, starting at 9:30 AM EST. We anticipate having loads of images full technical information to share after the webcast, too, so truck aficionados should stay tuned. We'll also be bringing you live images of both trucks too, when we see them on the show floor at next month's Detroit Auto Show.
