Description

This 1978 MGB was recently donated to a local charity and is for sale on their behalf. An original paint, rust free, California car that runs and drives well.

The paint is original, but has several chips and scratches. If patina is your thing, this car has it. Only a few minor dings, but the trunk lid has a fatigue crack in the subframe and as a result the lid is bending outward. (see photos) The canvas top looks almost new with a few light water stains but very clear windows.

Inside, the seats are covered, but don't seem too bad leading me to believe they were covered for preservation. The drivers seat seems a bit flat, and will need to be restuffed. Carpets are worn and a piece is missing on the back shelf. Visors are missing, and the glove box will not stay closed. Knob is missing for the hood release cable, but a pair of pliers will do the trick.

Mechanically it starts right up and idles nicely. Brakes and clutch seem fine and the transmission is quiet. Battery is new. Tires are only 20% worn.

A good car that you can drive while you fix the small stuff. These cars are getting harder to find in America, so get a good one while you can!

Winning bidder must contact us within 24 hours of auction end, and make arrangements for payment at that time. A 25% deposit is due within 24 hours of end of auction. The remainder is due within 3 days of auction end. Payment can be made by Cash in person, Paypal, Bank Wire Transfer, Visa or Mastercard. Maximum amount payable by Paypal, Visa or Mastercard is $5K due to transaction charges. Out of state buyers will receive a California title in their name within two to three weeks after full payment is received. We invite bidders to come see and drive the vehicle at our location in Redwood City CA. prior to placing a bid Buyer is responsible for pickup or shipping of this vehicle.
