1972 Mercedes-Benz 600 Sedan

Widely regarded as one of the best sedans ever built and certainly one of the most advanced cars of its day, the 600 brought Mercedes-Benz back to the very peak of luxury car manufacturing just twenty years after the end of the Second World War. Owned by Popes, celebrities and heads of state alike, the 600 had everything an increasingly wealthy upper class could want. It offered 300 horsepower and 434 lb-ft of torque from the M-100 6.3 liter overhead camshaft fuel injected light alloy V-8 engine, while a comfortable yet competent ride was assured with fully independent suspension on load-compensating air springs. There were disc brakes all around, central door locks, power steering and two separate climate control systems as well. All of this, remember, was available on a car introduced in 1963.
Finished in a its� original shade of Tunis Beige Metallic with matching wheels and a tan leather interior, this short wheelbase 1972 Mercedes-Benz 600 Sedan may be one of the best examples of its kind. It is of course lavishly equipped with a refrigerated drinks compartment and glasses between the front seats, a sunroof, supplemental radio controls behind the passenger�s seat, and privacy shades for the rear and rear quarter windows. Outside, the car presents exquisitely with fabulous chrome and paint thanks to a high quality respray, while the leather and wood of the interior look practically brand new. The engine bay is a tidy, well-maintained space, and the odometer reads just 44,000 miles from new, making for a remarkably clean and showable car.
This is an exceptional example of an exceptional machine. Any 600 is a rare sight, especially one so well kept, and few cars on the road could ever match it for prestige. This is just as true now as it was in the 1960s and 1970s, as the Mercedes-Benz 600 is one of those truly grand automobiles, the likes of which we so rarely see. It is the luxury car which all others strive to match.

Payment Terms

A 20% deposit must be received within 48 hours of auction end.
Deposit is fully refundable if purchaser inspects the vehicle within the 5 day inspection period, and for any reason does not like the car.
Final payment must be received within five business days of close of auction, unless other arrangements are made.
Payment can be made by cashier�s check or by bank wire transfer.
