1997 Chrysler

Sebring Convertible JXi

This item is a 1997 Chrysler Sebring Convertible JXi. The car is in good operational and physical condition. I’ve owned it since July of 2005 and mainly used it in the summer. I put only about 4,000 to 5,000 miles a year on it and it was garaged most winters. The car had a new convertible top installed last summer. It is a great summer car. The reason I’m selling it is that I need to get something for my son to use while in college. I would love to use it for one more summer, but it is probably better to sell it now at the beginning of summer season.

The car does have some ware and tear that would be expected with a car this age but all in all is in good condition. The car has just under 117,000 miles on it. The car was well maintained. I changed the oil every 3,000 to 4,000 miles and had all recommended service items performed. The tires are all in good condition and do not need to be replace. Over the years I’ve also done a number of repairs on the car those along with any known problems are listed below.

Items that have been repaired or replaced:

·      Radiator and hoses were replaced in 2006 at 89,000 miles

·      The timing belt was replaced in 2008 at 97,000 miles

·      Water pump was replaced in 2008 at 97,000 miles

·      Replaced the spark plugs in 2008 at 97,000 miles

·      Transmission fluid was replaced in 2010 at 105,000 miles

·      Front wheel bearings (right and left) were replaced in 2011 at 109,000 miles

·      Front tie rod ends (right and left) were replaced in 2011 at 109,000 miles

·      Rear Brakes, Lines, Cylinder and flex hoses were replaced in 2011 at 110,000 miles

·      Battery was replaced in 2012 at 111,000 miles

·      Convertible top was replaced in 2013 at 114,000 miles

·      Alternator was replaced in 2013 at 115,000 miles

OK, now the known problems, these are mostly minor but I want to mention them.

·      The check engine light has been coming on and off since I owned the car. If you look at the code it is the exhaust recirculation valve. I’ve had this checked at a garage and they said the valve was fine and that the sensor triggering the code was just overly sensitive. They would just reset the computer. The car has never failed the emissions test. I would usually just wait until the light was off to take it in for the test.

·      The air-conditioning is not working. It failed a few years ago but I never got it fixed since I usually only use the car with the top down.

·      There is some minor rust starting to appear on the rear passenger side quarter panel. The rust has not broken through but you can see a few small lumps in the paint around the wheel well (I included some pictures of this in the listing).

·      There is a spot on the same rear quarter panel top where the clear coat on the paint has worn off (I included a picture of this spot in the listing).

·      The interior has some ware and tear; the driver seat bottom has some tears in it. I purchased a set of custom seat covers for the front seats and just used the part for the front driver seat. The remaining seat covers are included with the car. The material on the sun visors has started to rip off and there is about a 2-inch separation in the seam of the rear back seat.

·      There is a leak in the engine valve cover gasket. The leak is not significant I usually don’t have to add any oil to the engine between oil changes but you can smell the oil on the engine when it first heats up.

Payment can be made through Paypal or by Money Order. Once the payment is made the car can be picked up or the buyer can pay to have it shipped using one of the shipping services available through ebay or selected by the buyer. Once the payment is made I’ll have the title signed and notarized. This can be mailed to the buyer or picked up with the car if the payment is made prior to pickup.

Good Luck and Thanks for bidding.
