    This Fairlane has generated a TON of response here in the shop. Quickly becoming a shop favorite with lots of longing eyes, we hide the keys at night. We see many cars, but there is just something about these cars when they sit down low on torque thrusts with that tear drop hood that is timeless.


    The car itself has been very lucky. It was a San Jose produced Sports Coupe that was even luckier to be sold new in the San Jose Orderding District, code 72 on the door tag. Because of this it has survived very well with no know exterior panel replacements. The drivers front floor pan does have a small repair done with the correct original metal. The trunk floor is in excellent condition. The paint has a nice shine with a good, deep luster. This is not a show car but a nice driver. The panels are nice & straight with good gaps. The floors, quarters, etc all appear to be quite solid. A nicely re-plated front bumper was just installed. The trim has been cleaned and polished but is the original so there is some patina, overall it is very presentable.


    It was optioned with a beautiful Deluxe Bucket Seat white interior. The factory bucket seats have been restored with new seat upholstery and really look nice. Nice reproduction door panels have the correct chrome trim and fit well. The carpet was replaced with reproduction molded carpet.


    Under that Thunderbolt Crites hood lives an angry 306 CID small block. It is cold blooded and can be cantankarous until it warms up. Once it has, it is like a happy 3000lb pit bull. It shakes, wags, is eager to please and not afraid to bite. With a blip of the throttle it is all too happy to make prodigeous amount of tire smoke and just watch the tach fly. Don't fear the RPM's, this on was done right. It was built with Eagle rods, Keith Black Pistons, Dart Windsor Jr. Iron heads, Milodon Oil Pan, Holley 750 HP Double Pumper ($640 summit), Edelbrock Performer RPM Air Gap, Big Lunati Hydraulic Camshaft, Comp Roller Rocker Arms, High Performance Damper and a high performance ignition system to keep things lit. Hooker Super Comp Headers with a nice Ceramic Coat breathe through some BIG pipes and sound tremendous. A HUGE amount of money has been invested into this one. Any red blooded man (or woman) getting behind the wheel will instantly notice a quicker heartbeat and a significant increase in testosterone.


    This is a very rare, trans code 5, original 4-speed car. It has been upgraded with a Hurst shifter so it shifts quick & accurate every time. The engine loves to rev and the 4-speed makes the very most of every last one of the estimated 400 Horsepower.


    This one has been lowered 2" front & rear and sits down Just Right on the vintage Torque Thrust wheels & Radials. They are as big as could be shoe-horned into the wheel wells and still not rub on every bump, it will rub slightly here and there or on a hard corner.
