Highlights

Being offered for sale is a 1976 Pontiac Grand Prix in nearly new condition.  For most of its life, it was owned by an elderly lady (true story) and after her death at 84, it was stored for 6 years by a family member.  It was subsequently sold to its 2nd owner who had it repainted in its original color and some mechanical work performed to make it reliable and drive as like the day it came off the showroom floor.

This car was given a Tuff Cote (Zeibart like) rust proofing job when new that has protected the car in its pristine condition.  It is rust free from top to bottom.  I took this car in on a trade and have driven it several hundred miles and am impressed with how nice it really is and how well it drives.

Details

New items that were done to the car are as follows:

  • New front bumper
  • New carpeting and pad
  • KLB shocks at all 4 corners
  • New brakes, rotors, calipers, and lines
  • New wheel bearings
  • U Joints
  • Front suspension rebuilt
  • Water pump
  • Thermostat
  • Heater blower motor
  • A/C system serviced and blows very cold
  • Flowmaster duel exhaust system

The car’s repaint in the original color is high end and presents as showroom new.  There are no flaws or chips.  It is bright and shiny.  The white vinyl Landau top is like new. The windows are all original and like new.  The grill and tail light bezels are in excellent condition.  The weather stripping is soft and supple and in very good condition.

As a result of the rust proofing, the car is completely rust free.  It retains all its original sheet metal.  It was never been wrecked.  All the body panels and gaps are the way they came from the factory.

The interior is awesome, it presents as showroom new.  The dash is beautiful with all the trim bright and shiny.  There are no cracks in the dash or steering wheel.  The original headliner and door panels look like new.  The seats and seat belts are like new.  New carpeting was installed with a new pad underneath.  All the instrumentation and switches work as does the horn, turn signals, lights, wipers and interior lights.  The clock does not.  The original radio is still in the car with a new CD/AM/FM radio installed in the glove box.  It sounds great.

The engine bay is detailed and presents as factory original.  The same for the trunk.  The underside is neat and tidy.  The frame is perfect.

Mechanically the car is in excellent condition.  Everything works like it should except for the clock.  It is fully optioned.  The car starts instantly with no smoke.  The TH400 transmission shifts crisply in all gears.  There are no leaks.  It drives like the luxury sports car that it is.

This is a no excuse Grand Prix.  I encourage you to look at this vehicle in person and test drive it.   For the price, this car could be used as a reliable daily driver or on the weekends and taken to the local car shows.

I have set the “Buy It Now” price on this car below the book value to move it on to its next owner.  I am open to reasonable offers on it.  If you would like more information on the car or to make an offer, please give me a call at 765-994-9972.  Most of my auctions end early with such a phone call where a deal is negotiated and finalized.

About Us

I have been a classic car collector for many years. I've turned my love of classic cars into a second career by opening Hoosier Classic Motorcars.  Because I am a smaller dealer, I can carefully choose the cars I buy. Sometimes I buy for my own use and collection, but I always do my best to acquire only high quality, sound cars.  I try to describe them accurately and honestly, so you get a realistic idea of what I have available.

To ensure my customer's comfort in buying a classic car, I offer an optional warranty on the drive line and other components.  I want the relationship with all my customers to continue after the sale.

Email, call or stop by my showroom in Richmond Indiana with any questions, I love to talk about cars!
