• NUMBERS MATCHING!
• Rarely Seen Steel Cities Gray Metallic Paint!
• Black Leather Interior!
• LT1 350ci V8!
• 4-Speed Manual Transmission!
• Optional Factory Hardtop!

MotoeXotica Classic Cars is ecstatic to offer an absolutely incredible, numbers matching 1971 LT1 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible with factory hardtop. This unbelievable and iconic sports car is finished in the “Firemist” option of Steel Cities Gray Metallic (Paint Code 988), which was offered for an additional cost from the factory. There were 21,801 Corvettes built in 1971 and only 1,591 were produced in Steel Cities Gray Metallic, making this color rarely seen, especially in 2014! The engine and transmission are both stamped with the VIN from the factory, which is hard to find! This Corvette is an excellent example of the quality of sports cars in the late muscle car era and it would make an awesome addition to any Corvette lovers garage (or any car collectors collection, in general!).

The body of this Corvette is laser straight. The correct Steel Cities Gray Metallic paint is in great original condition, showing only minor imperfections, such as a small amount of paint cracking around the gas door. The LT1 decals that surround the center hood scoops accentuate the hood and look great. The factory black vinyl hardtop is in excellent condition, showing very minor imperfections and seals well. The soft top is in excellent condition.

Inside, the interior is correct and appears to be all original. The black leather (Trim Code 403) seats look great that show minor wear only to the left side of the driver’s seat bolster. Both door panels match the seats and only show minor wear from age. The black carpet is also in great condition. The dashboard is in great condition, showing no signs of cracking or fade. It houses all of the original gauges, as well as a clock and AM/FM radio. This Corvette is about as original as it gets.

Under the hood is where things get exciting. The original and correct LT1 350ci V8 (casting #3970010) starts right up and sounds good. The engine stamp shows a code with the last six of the VIN C11S112783 and V0202CGZ, showing the engine was built at the Flint, Michigan plant, on the 2nd day of February, with code CGZ for 350ci/330HP, 9.0:1 compression, 4 barrel carburetor and a manual transmission. The engine bay is clean and tidy, just as it was back in 1971. Mated to the engine is a 4-speed manual transmission. The transmission case is stamped with C11S112783, just like the engine. The Corvette is also equipped with power brakes and power steering. The car sits upon a set of 15” steel wheels with chrome Chevrolet Motor Company hubcaps. The wheels are wrapped in F70-15 Firestone white letter tires that look great!

While we were verifying the authenticity of the numbers matching, we were searching around and found a SMALL piece of some sort of dealer information from 1971 up in the suspension, by the rear shock. This is also included with the car. It may not be much but it is a very, very cool find! We have not dropped the gas tank to look for the build sheet and do not have a copy of one.

This vehicle runs and drives beautifully with all mechanical aspects working like they should. Bid with confidence, you will not be disappointed in this absolutely incredible, original and numbers matching 1971 Chevrolet Corvette Hardtop Convertible. The VIN is 194671S112783 and the mileage currently shows 82,063. It is being sold on a clean and clear Missouri title. GET OUT AND DRIVE!!!
