Plenty of Skylarks and GS350s out there, the GS400 is still among the top of the food chain and Convertibles are even more desirable!

Older restoration shows the typical scratches and small blemishes as expected. The rear bumper on driver's side corner has a small dent and puncture but otherwise straight and shiny.  There's isn't much to do on this car other than get in it and drive it! Power top works Great and without the typical lag time.  The air conditioner is all there but not hooked up. Interior is is good shape, some wear on door panel trim but again, nothing that sticks out.  The undercarriage is extremely clean, dry, and solid.

This GS was a southern belle spending very little time in good ol' Upstate NY.

Not driven in rain or inclement weather has proven beneficial to maintaining this GS in good condition.

Overall a Very nice car at an affordable price for a Classic Muscle Convertible.

The Buick GS350 and GS400 both rested on the 112-inch wheelbase intermediate coupe platform. Inside, the GS350 was trimmed in similar fashion to the Skylark Custom. The exterior had an aggressive and muscular appearance and was coded as a Skylark Custom although it was more related to the GS400. On the front fenders were finned simulated air intakes, bright wheelhouse molding was used, and a lower body paint accent stripe replaced the bright molding. On the center of the deck lid was a GS 350 plaque. In the front grille was more identification. The rear fenders and door panels had GS monograms.

Inside was an All-vinyl interior with foam-padded seats. Buck seats could be purchased as optional equipment.

The GS400 was available as either a hardtop coupe or a convertible. A total of 2,454 examples of the convertible were built and 10,743 of the hardtop. Pricing began at $3,125 for the hardtop and $3,270 for the convertible. They had a GS 400 plaque on each front fender, wide oval F70 x 14 white stripe tires, fake fender vents and functional hood scoops.

Standard equipment included folding seatback latches and all-vinyl interior. Bucket seats could be ordered as optional equipment.

Power came from a 400 cubic-inch overhead valve V8 offering 340 cubic-inches. It had five main bearings, hydraulic valve lifters, and a Rochester 4MV four-barrel carburetor with chromed air cleaner top.

The revitalize interest in the vehicle introduced two versions of the GS, the GS400 and GS340. The numbers in the name symbolized the cubic-inch size of the engine. The 401 cubic-inch engine was replaced by an improved 400 cubic-inch unit. Though slightly smaller in size, it was smoother, sportier, and more responsive than the power-plant it replaced and still produced the same 340 horsepower rating as its predecessor. The GS 340 was equipped with a 340 cubic-inch engine that produced 260 horsepower and 365 foot-pounds of torque. Performance and versatility continued with the introduction of a three-speed automatic gearbox; a three and four speed manual gearbox was also available. Sales held steady but below expectations, with production almost equal to the prior year.

The chassis of the GS was revamped for 1968, becoming smaller in size. Though it became smaller its overall weight increased due to the design and materials used. The 400 cubic-inch engine remained the same while the 340 was enlarged to 350 cubic-inches. Power output rose to 280.
