I am happy to offer you a true 1966 Volkswagen Deluxe Micro Bus 21 window field find. The owner has had this vehicle for 27 years and it has been sitting for 20 years in roughly the same spot. The vehicle has never had an attempt of restoration, it was driven and then parked. The window gaskets were replaced in the 80's and the windows are ALL excellent. There is even one extra front sliding glass pane. Below you will find links to highly detailed images that document this vehicle. Please use your knowledge and judgement when bidding on this vehicle. These images are 3mb to 8mb in size and show every detail on the car. I have also documented and decoded the plates located on this vehicle to the best of my knowledge. Please verify this information on your own. This is a very rare and desirable vehicle. It has been sitting for 20 years and still has much to offer while being so rusty. Please understand the rarity of the 21 window deluxe models. This vehicle has a clear title and has matching numbers throughout showing it is a true 21 window deluxe. It also has the very rare sunroof cover.

Detailed Walk-through Images and Description:

The following gallery provides a walk-around and walk-through of the vehicle. This is not the original front clip, it is from an older model with bullet style signals. There is a thin line of filler on the top of the clip. However we do have the original signals to this vehicle documented in the gallery. The bus has no engine and the transmission is in unknown condition. It is believed to not be the original transmission. The paint appears to be partially original and partially sprayed over in the past. This deluxe only has the front seats and what is described to you. The back seats are missing, but the sunroof cover is complete. A plexiglass panel was placed over the sunroof prior to sitting and has not been removed. The front bumper looks great, the rear bumper looks to have two small holes cut from a previous customization. Please take note of the overall rust and note the solid areas.

Sunroof Cover, M Plates, Chasis Code, Title in Detail:

Here are images of both sides of the sunroof cover that was reupholstered in the 80's, this is a very rare and expensive original piece to this vehicle.
This gallery also contains the M-Plate Codes, Chasis Codes, and Title. The codes are further explained below in this description.
If you follow the gallery to my PhotoBucket - Sunroof and Plates you will see the all of the full quality images.

Detailed Images of Underside Condtion:

This gallery takes you through the underside of the car as it sits. Please take note of the rust - as this is a rusty yet desirable vehicle. I have been told that the frame needs attention and repair from rust. This is a large restoration.
If you follow the gallery to my PhotoBucket - Underside you will see the all of the full quality images.

Description of codes captured in the images:

Based on the codes and research I was able to gather the following information:
The M-Code plate pictured depicts the numbers "27 9", "425 002 025 114". The 27 9 means that this vehicle was made September 27th, 1966.
425 denotes:
North American export package including
Twin reversing lights (may not always be true, depending on year)
MPH Speedometer
Sealed beam headlights
Hazard warning lights
Mountings for safety belts
Laminated windscreen
Ram protection (overrider bumpers)
Dual-circuit brake system
002 denotes:
USA sealed beam headlights
Pre-heat flap delete
025 denotes: Safety belts
114 denotes: 6 popout side windows

The last part is the M Code "UN 2412 381370 6032666" and it describes the bus as:
UN:exported to the United States from Germany
241: Microbus Deluxe
2: Nitro-Lacquer finish
38: Velvet Green Lower
13: Pearl White Upper
70: Mesh Platinum/Platinum Silver Deluxe Upholstery - This is one hip bus.
The last part is the vin, that also matches the chasis code and the title.
The chasis plate depicts "Made in Germany" and the "Typ 24" with other info and the vin of the vehicle. Typ 24 denotes Microbus Deluxe.
