You are bidding on a beautiful 1979 Cadillac Seville Elegante with 40,000 original miles.  If you are familiar with the '78 and '79 Elegantes', you know that most were finished in the two tone silver and black combination with gray interior. In the latter part of '79 they also made available the stunning combination of red cedar over cedar firemist  (both new colors for 1979), with color coordinated bumper rub strips and dark cedar leather interior. Most information found  for the '79 Elegante including some of the original brochures doesn't even mention this color combination. There is only mention of the silver and black. There was a similar color combination made for the '78 Elegante. Out of all the Sevilles made in '78, supposedly only 5000 were Elegantes. I'm assuming similar numbers were produced for '79 and the majority of those were the silver and black. In any event this is a rather rare car especially in this color combination. It is simply beautiful in person. I am the third owner of the vehicle. It is originally an Arizona car. The car always been garaged, maintained and babied. The original owner passed away and the vehicle was then sold through is estate. The vehicle then went to a collector in Arizona from whom I purchased the car. I searched literally for several years to find a '79 Elegante in this  color combination and in this condition. There are a few still out there and most of them are no where near the  condition of this car.

Mechanically the car is in perfect condition. The car has just recently had almost $4000.00 worth of service done to it. I have all receipts for this. The following items have been replaced -

Complete cooling system - New Radiator, Upper and Lower Radiator Hoses, Fan Clutch, Thermostat, Refilled with new coolant

Heater Hoses

Complete Tune Up - New Ignition Rotor, Ignition Coil, Distributor Assembly, New Spark Plugs and Wires

All New Belts

Fuel Tank Removed and Flushed

Fuel Pump and Fuel Filter

Brakes Completely Checked, System Flushed and Refilled

Exhaust Manifold Gaskets

Replaced Worn Steering Gear, Flushed and Refilled Power Steering System, (Steering is tight and wheel is dead center, steers like new)

All new custom ordered (to get correct whitewall size) Uniroyal Tires, probably less that 1k miles on the tires. Also purchased a 5th tire to have a full size matching spare just in case.

Mechanically the car needs nothing. The car runs flawlessly. The transmission shifts smooth and perfect as it should.

Paint and Body - The paint on the car is a strong 9 out of 10, and I'm extremely picky. The car had a bare metal respray in the correct factory colors approximately 6 or 7 years ago by the original owner. The respray was not due to any accident or rust damage. Even though the car has always been garaged, the original metallic paint had simply started to show its age. If you are at all familiar with 70's and 80's GM paint, even the factory paint on the Cadillac's was not the best. I have owned numerous collector cars and have been going to car shows and collector car auctions for over 30 yrs and let me say that I am usually one of the first people that prefers a low mileage, original paint car. You never know what's being covered up or hidden. With that being said, this car is probably one of only 4 or 5 cars that I have ever purchased that has been repainted. The paint on this car is that good. In fact I had to examine the car for a while to confirm that it was not the original factory paint. The main reason you can tell is that it's actually much too nice to be factory paint. The absolute correct factory colors were used including the correct Elegante pin striping. This is a very expensive show quality paintjob on this car. I went over this entire car before I purchased it. There is not a single tape mark or even the tiniest bit of overspray anywhere.. period. It is completely obvious that every piece of trim, molding, rubber, etc. was removed before this car was resprayed. The original owner wanted a show car and that's what he paid for. In fact the car has been strictly a show car  for at least the last 6 or 7 yrs, probably more, and I doubt that its even been driven in the rain anytime recently, I know I haven't.  I would prefer an original paint car, but trust me, you will not find one of these in this color combination with the original paint that is anywhere close to the condition of this paint. Its gorgeous with no excuses. These cars are now 35 + yrs old and even the best ones with original paint are showing there age and will need to be redone soon. The lower sides of the car, rocker panels, underneath, etc. are extremely clean. I am a fanatic with detailing my cars and this car did not need it. It could be entered into a show and win  exactly as it sits. There are no small dents or door dings anywhere and there is absolutely no rust. Again this was an Arizona car. The only two issues with the exterior of the car, as we know, nothing is perfect, is that there are a couple of small scratches on the upper right (pass side) fender. Most likely the result of a careless mechanic leaning over into the engine bay and also there is a very small  crack in the right side, rear filler panel area where it meets the rear bumper. (rear, pass side fender below tail light). I've included pictures of both of these areas to better describe them. Other than those items, the paint is simply beautiful and the filler panels are perfect. They even replaced the (unleaded fuel only) sticker below the license plate. You never see this after the fillers on these cars are replaced. I've included pictures of underneath the doors and also pulled back the weather stripping on one of the doors and took a picture to show that there is no rust in the some of the usual places. All lights and lenses are clear and not sun damaged or cloudy. Bumper rub strips are all in excellent condition. All chrome is beautiful. No scratches, pitting, etc anywhere.

Interior - The interior of the car is about as close to perfect as your going to find. The leather seats are all in perfect condition with no rips, tears, worn spots or fading. The leather has always been conditioned. I give it regular Lexol treatments. All door panels and armrests are in perfect condition. Dash and all trim pieces are perfect. No dash cracks, no chips, no fading etc. All trim pieces are in tact and nothing is broke or loose as is the case with of lot of these older GM cars. Center armrest and console leather in perfect condition. Steering wheel leather perfect with no wear. This is almost always worn in some way or another from people wearing rings and damaging the leather. This car has none of that. Headliner perfect. No sagging. Rear parcel shelf perfect, no fading. All lights, windows, switches, seats, radio, original antennae work perfectly. AC functions properly and blows cold. Carpets are in beautiful condition, no wear marks or stains even in driver side foot well area near pedals etc.

Trunk and engine compartment are clean and show ready. Original space saver spare, inflator and jack all in tact under cover. As mentioned, I do have a matching full size spare that goes with the car.

Original factory wire wheels are all in absolutely amazing condition with no marks, chips, curb rash or rust whatsoever.

Brief Seville  History and Info. - From 76-79 Cadillac built its flagship Seville, which was Americas most expensive car, in a manner that was considered a bold move.  The 76-79 Seville was a downsized car, however, it has incredible rigidity, more so even than the full framed Fleetwood.  The Seville has an incredible power to weight ratio, making it comparable to the TA's, etc of the day in performance. The car has a 5.7 Liter Oldsmobile EFI engine which is literally bulletproof, powerful but yet efficient. The car has the best of the best TH400 Transmission and a GM 8.5 Differential.  Yes these cars even has 4 wheel disk brakes!  Major hardware was put in these cars! They have large front an rear sway bars that make them handle as well as the "muscle" cars of the day and much better than the famed early 70s predecessors like GTOs, etc. If that was not enough, these cars LOOKED GOOD!  In short, these cars were way ahead of their time and WAY ahead of the late 70s Cadillac buyers themselves. These cars actually handled, stopped, accelerated and did everything that crowd could care less about.   After 1979, GM got really silly and made the Seville a FWD car, taking away all of these superb driving characteristics, body integrity, power and more for a cheaper car on the FWD easy to build platform.  That was just the way it was.  Due to that fact, the 76-79 Seville has become a modern classic.  These cars are one of the few cars from the late 70's that can actually carry itself of the road with modern integrity, power and handling but yet have the nostalgia of yesterday.  If you ever wanted to drive a 70s car for a daily driver and not feel totally inadequate, these cars are the pinnacle of the best driving 70s cars.

This Seville Elegante will not disappoint even the pickiest  collector or enthusiast. It is one of the best examples left in existence in this condition and in this color combination. I know because I searched forever to find this one. This one has been loved, preserved and gently used and maintained. Again, the car runs and drives beautifully and needs  nothing. I have driven several of these late '70's Cadillacs including Broughams and Eldorados and this one is honestly one of the best ones I have driven. This car is extremely tight and quiet and there is not a single squeak, rattle or weird noise anywhere. Comes with original books and manuals and service records. I hope that I have covered everything although I'm sure I'm forgetting something. If there is anything else that you would like to know or if you would like additional pictures of anything in particular, just email me at flflt@hotmail.com or call anytime on my cell at 321-794-7196. The car is available anytime to inspect or test drive just give me a call and we can set up a time. The only reason we are selling the car is because another car that I have been trying to purchase for a while became available and we purchased it. We currently have four vehicles and only a three car garage. When the other car arrives we will be up to five so  one has to go. We simply don't have the room and I do not let my cars sit outside. I there is anything else, let me know. I am going to try and somehow upload some  more pictures. I have a very reasonable reserve set on the car which I would prefer not to disclose in fairness to all bidders. Also I do not have a buy it now price in mind. If you are seriously interested feel free to make me an offer otherwise I will let the auction run its course. Thanks and good luck bidding!

Car is  sold as is with no warranty expresses or implied. Transport and shipping costs are the complete responsibility of the buyer, however, I will assist as much as possible coordinating with a transport company if needed.
