==============================================================================

For sale is my "Fun Friend" - my 1991 Saab 900 turbo convertible.

Placing a bid on this classic style Saab - might very well buy you (cheaply) into a fantastic ownership experience.
There are LOTS of cars out on the road. But just a handful of styles or designs that make a STATEMENT by their
shear look. Classic Jaguars, Older Mercedes, even VW Wagon Buses qualify. This car QUALIFIES !
Mainly due to is rarity to start with, the styling, color red, and the black fan tail or fin between rear window and trunk.

OK :

(1) Vehicle is being SOLD = AS-IS. Having said that ; It happens to be a KILLER Vehicle !
(2) Vehicle drives smooth, and is a fun car to drive. Gets lots of waves from people who understand what it represents.
(3) Runs - "Rich" and likely needs either (or both) a Fuel Regulator ($63.00 from Rock Auto), or a o2 Sensor, also approx
($65.00) as prices via Rock Auto on line acct. I have owned this car for (since 2007?) and its been my fun - "time out"
"release" or mental health break". Love jumping in it, putting the top down, and just driving right, then left, then right
etc. Just a super FUN convertible to tour the back roads in. As far as the highways, - UM - I did manage to get a
ticket, from a southern Louisiana County officer - going 114 MPH. Frankly, I was lucky to keep ownership of the car.
I only mention that to put forward the power and condition, (capabilities) of this classic design and well made vehicle.
(4) Vehicle is located in Crown Point, Indiana (46307) and can - CAN be started, fired up, test driven etc, but because it
is running "rich" and in need of the (above mentioned) service and parts, I think it would be SMART for any potential
bidder, to tow or trailer it to its new home / as apposed to driving it home. Make no mistake, it is drivable and candidly
still a nice smooth ride, but - unquestionably is running rich - will need to be addressed before heading to California in it.
(5) As far as the repairs needed to make this baby run as designed ; I have (via my friend - a mobile mechanic) replaced or
done the following : (a) Replaced Fuel Injectors, (b) Replaced the Mass Air Flow Meter, (c) Replaced / Installed a NEW
CAT Converter, Replaced the IAC ?? Sensor, (d) Replaced the Spark Plugs, Wiring, Rotor & Cap. Plus several other
repair efforts that I can not recall at the moment. We have had it looked at a VERY experienced (32yr) mechanic who
has narrowed it down (now) to either the Fuel Regulator, and or the o2 Sensor as the ultimate - "Smooth Runner" - Repair !
(6) Vehicle has GREY Leather interior / seats. Cassette player, with CD player (in dash) and Multi-player in trunk.
(7) Overall condition is GOOD. Not perfect, not great, but represents multiple ownerships, over 22 yrs and 247,000 miles.
(8) HONEST NEGATIVES : (we have been on ebay as both a buyer and seller for 12 yrs now and value HONEST listings)
To that end - we are providing prospective buyers the known negatives on this vehicle.
(a) Rear Left quarter panel has dent / inclusion and white scrapes.
(b) Battery could definitely use replacing. But is solid when used or vehicle driven often.
(c) Mechanically thought to be solid, but running "rich" as explained and detailed above.
(d) Top shows its age. Likely the original top. Operates PERFECTLY via power motor, just aged or warn canvas.
(e) 1.5 ft pieces of trim, on both drivers and passenger door are missing. Removed to position magnetic business adverts.
(f) Tires are not new - but have 10's of thousands of miles left on them. ie NO need for immediate replacement.
(9) HONEST POSITIVES :
(a) NOT a slow vehicle. Once back in smooth running condition - this is a super fun, classic, euro convertible.
(b) GREAT gas mileage.
(c) Will make you NEW FRIENDS on the road every time you take it out. Classic look / style gets looks and compliments.
(d) Power - Convertible Top - operates PERFECTLY ! Takes all of 7 seconds to put it up or down and lock into place.
(e) RED color is HIGHLY desirable.
(f) As per Pics --- Comes with the Convertible "boot set" for Retracted Convertible cover - coverage. SEE PICS. Nice Look !
This "Boot" item alone sells on ebay for up to $250.00. But included free in this listing for next valued owner !
(g) Recently installed NEW Catalytic Converter - $284.00
(h) Recently installed NEW Mass Air Flow Meter - $141.00
(i) Recently installed NEW IAC ? (spelling) Sensor/Module $87.00
(j) Recently installed Fuel Injector Set (4) - $135.00
(k) Recently installed / Replaced Plugs, Wires, Rotor, Cap etc....
(l) Recently installed / Replaced Vacuum lines.

(10) WHY AM I SELLING MY BABY IF I HAVE FINALLY NARROWED DOWN THE CORRECT FIX / REPAIR ???
Moving to Utah ! Can't justify, deal with, or juggle the additional money, efforts etc. to bring it along ;-(

(11) Please see PICS. Pics detail (show condition of the vehicle - as of 9-28-13)
Pics were taken to show the vehicle in as positive a light as possible. It does have its flaws.
Flaws include paint chips touched up, moldings cracked, nice - but warn leather seats and the like.
It is a killer vehicle, priced to be stolen, but NOT perfect. Be realistic as a bidder and YOU will love
what you end up with - if successful bidding.
Remember : its is 22 years old, has had multiple owners, has 247,000 miles on it etc.

BUT AGAIN ------- FOR THE RIGHT PERSON - THIS COULD BE A FALL DOWN AMAZING BUY / STEAL.
WE ARE PRICING IT - AS A SKINNY DEAL !
IT NEEDS TO BE SOLD - AND WILL BE SOLD.

SERIOUS BUYERS CAN CONTACT ME AT (219) 308-2211 WITH ANY QUESTIONS, CONCERNS, OR OFFERS.

Adding this ----- Sunday Night 1/26/2014  8pm ---------- Because we have been both a Buyer and Seller on
this unique ebay community marketplace for over 12 PLUS years, and expect, hope, trust, value, and
appreciate completely honest condition descriptions by sellers.  Otherwise, it just wastes both parties time
and energy unfairly.

SO ...........  Current bidders and bidders after 9pm 1/26/14 acknowledge and accept this additional cond. info:

NOTE:  If anything in these 3 pics, or the information provided now makes any current bid participants to
retract their bids, I can totally understand, and will assist / agree to help via anything required of
              me as a seller.

Several, MANY people have called with interest in the vehicle.
Per basic auction details, selling at the wrong time and cheap because I need the cash.

(1)  Pic #1 of white saab should not be appearing.  Auction is for the Red Saab 900 convertible in all other pics.
(2)  Last three (3) pics show the vehicle as it sits tonight, (stored under 2 diff tarps) in my driveway.
(3)  Two winter pics are rear and front of vehicle in this bitter cold winter.  3rd is of the recently broken front headlight.
(4)  Front passenger headlight was broken last week.   Could not stop van when backing up on icy slopped driveway.
(5)  Essentially assuming, (per current bids and circumstances) vehicle will sell for "skinny" price - leaving more than
enough money for headlight replacement and or any front area repair costs.  I have priced them recently on ebay from
anywhere from $30.00 + shipping --- up to a crazy $185.00.  Smart searching and timing on this item will be key.
(6)  SEE PIC of the rear of Convertible Top where it attaches to the cars body.  Top has been ok and passable for me for
some time and looks wise, but may NOT be for some potential buyers.  Main top is clearly used but ok and functional.
Issue is the rear zip in (independently replaceable) back window and how and where it attaches to the body.  As it stands
right now, this rear back top section (both R/L sides and panel under the window) is not attached or loose.
As I re-read this additional vehicle condition info it sounds kind of bad.
Dealership would likely charge you more than what final winning bid for ENTIRE car in this auction will be for their repair.
Obviously that is crazy and not the way to go.  For the right person, with the right parts and simple basic tools, it is probably
an hour project.  Key to do this properly seems to be - (per my homework) - a plastic curved molded piece that (a) gets secured
to the vehicle body, and then (b) is now then in position to pull down and stretch the top into place and secure with staples.
Then the metal piece (included and shown in pics) that seats and covers this attachment section is screwed in place.

Thanks for your interest in this classic vehicle.  I want to see it go to someone who understands the value and unique fun in it.
FORGIVE the belabored additional info left tonight.  Just would want and expect it from any seller offering something like this
that I was bidding on.

Original manuals and partial ? tool set will go with vehicle.
At least 3 sets of keys.
And recently purchased yellow glass (saab 900 matched) fog light assembly set also included.

Call (219) 308-2211 please.  Happy to talk, explain, help, detail, anything  etc....
All the Best
