Please note that experience shows us that the photobucket of over 100 large pixel pictures posted here are in most cases best viewed and downloaded using the very latest and most updated version of the 'Firefox' browser as some other browsers and especially older browser versions are not capable of accommodating the size of the download. Over the years our clients have overwhelmingly been appreciative of our many unaltered large pixel photos posted in our ads and our feedback has been that it is very rare that a seller will post all but the most flattering of photographs. We prefer to expose the complete roll of film taken of the car, in sometimes unflattering but natural sunlight, in order for our prospective buyers to be able to see true and reliable images of the car advertised and that is the reason for some seemingly duplicated shots. We trust you will agree.

West Coast Classics are proud to present an absolutely exceptional example of this rare fully restored beautiful original California 1967 MGB Midget Mark III 1275cc Convertible with its original California 'Black License' plates and recently fully restored in a truly striking 'Maroon Red Metallic' color paint with an equally striking interior of beautifully upholstered Black seats with Red piping and Black carpets, a new black soft top and highly desirable chrome wire wheels! All the options are working as they should including all gauges and lights.

The MG Midget was a small two-seater sports car produced by the MG division of the British Motor Corporation from 1961-79. The Mark I first generation (1961-64) was essentially a slightly more expensive badge-engineered version of the Austin-Healey Sprite MKII and the engine was a 948 cc A-Series with twin SU carburettors producing 46 hp. The car had a hard top, heater, radio and luggage rack available as factory-fitted extras. In late 1962 the engine was increased to 1098 cc, raising the output to 56 hp and disc brakes replaced the drums at the front. Wire spoked wheels also became available. The first generation doors had no external handles or locks and the windows were sliding Perspex side-screens. An original generation car with the 948 cc engine was tested by the British magazine 'The Motor' in 1962 and reportedly amazingly had a top speed of over 87mph. The Mark II (1964-66) gained wind-up windows, swivelling quarter lights, external handles and separate locks. The windscreen also gained a slight curvature and was retained in a more substantial frame. The Mark III (1966-74) engine now grew to an even more sporty and very fast 1275 cc using the development seen on the legendary Mini-Cooper 'S' and the marque began a legendary reputation for racing. Sadly for the last generation, the 1500 MG Midget (1974-80), oversized rubber bumpers were added to the chrome bumpers to meet the first US bumper impact regulations.

This is obviously one very rare and highly desirable example of this classic British sports car - a recently completely restored and accident free example of the legendary chrome bumper Mark III MG Midget with the 1275cc engine! Over $24K has been invested in this high class restoration with only 200 miles driven since finished. The trunk, floor boards, rocker panels and all the typically rust prone areas are all completely solid and rust free - an obviously always garaged California example and the engine with all associated parts including the drive train and transmission have been rebuilt. The chrome is all new, there is no sloppy panel alignment and the body is impressively straight all around. The car has new chrome wire wheels, a new cloth soft top, new glass windshield, all new interior, new high performance tires and all new brakes!

The 'Maroon Red Metallic' color paint is very striking indeed and virtually flawless and quite obviously painted professionally with no expense spared! The interior is also virtually flawless with beautiful new Black seats with Red piping and new carpets, a lovely sports steering wheel and wooden stick shift lever and original and still quite lovely 'Smiths' gauges to enhance its old world flavor. The soft top is also new with a crystal clear rear window. The chromed wire wheels are also new as are the chrome bumpers and grille.

This car truly has to be seen to be appreciated and driven to be believed - drives like it must have when brand new! The engine purrs quietly under the hood and the 4 speed manual transmission shifts smoothly through the gears - an absolute pleasure to drive! The temperature always remains cool and there are no noticeable oil leaks.

Without a doubt you will look long and hard to find a finer example of this rare piece of British motoring history - a rare fully restored original California 'Black license plate' MG Midget and perfect for the MG enthusiast or any classic British car collector!
