Up for sale is this gorgeous 2 Owner 1987 BMW E28 535is 5-speed!!! It is so hard to find a nice clean e28 535is these days, but here is the one for you! This car was sold new right here in Tennessee, and then traded in at Thoroughbred Motors in Nashville, where is was purchased by a local couple that have owned it since 1992! This car is incredibly straight, amazingly honest, and has always been maintained by a local BMW shop here in middle Tennessee. This car comes with original books, 2 keys, original window sticker, original sales receipt, and complete service records! The receipts for maintenance done to this car over the years is well over $10,000!!! The car is incredibly original all the way around! All panels have their correct VIN tags, no signs of any accidents in this beautiful cars history. The glass is all original. The floor mats appear to be original. The interior is all original, ect! The interior is in very good condition all things considered, with the accept ion of the drivers seat which does have a tear on the outer edge. The backseat is in excellent condition. The door panels are immaculate! The dash has a cap over it, the original one underneath has cracks. The glass is all in good shape. The headliner is in very good original condition, but does has some discoloring near the C pillars and a few other places. The car has been repainted, but was painted the correct factory color, Salmon Silver. The paint job was done in 2004. At that time, the roundels were replaced window chrome was replaced, and many other small parts. The paint is in very good condition with only a few small blemishes here and there. I would give the paint a solid 9.5 out of 10. The rear bumper has a crack in it, and there is a ding in the middle of the hood. Please refer to the pictures for all areas mentioned. The tires on the car have maybe 30% tread on them. The brakes are all 50% or better. AS I mentioned earlier, the car had tons of money spent on it over the years, and it shows! Very clean dry motor underneath, some minor seepage from the valve cover and the oil pan gasket, but no drips. The power steering reservoir has some seepage as well. The rear end is a little wet, but again no drips and INCREDIBLY clean for an E28! 

The Drive: I have put maybe 1000mi on this car and it drives FANTASTIC! Shifts great, brakes smooth and straight, really nice tight car! LOADS of power! One drive in this car and you can tell that it has been well maintained.

Things That Don't Work: These are the things that I have noticed do not work.

-Odometer stopped working when the 2nd owners had it. Estimated mileage is 290k

-Heater

-Headrests

I have narrowed the heat issue down to one of two things. It's either in need of a new AC switch, or a blower motor. The heater core is good as well as the hot water valve. Car is priced to SELL!!!
