and very Collectable, this Beauty has had a Recent Complete "Frame-Off" Restoration and
she is Ready for the Road!
This Rebuilt 396 V8 engine is mated to a 4-Speed Borg Warner T-10 Manual
Transmission.
Her handling is exceptional with Power Steering and Front Disc Power Brakes with a
beefed up suspension. She performs better than ever with a new Holley 750 cfm double
pump carburetor, Edelbrock Intake, Hooker Headers and FlowMaster Dual Exhaust system.

Her Gorgeous Custom Viper Blue Exterior with White SS stripes is complimented by an
elegant Pearl White vinyl interior with Blue Dash and Carpet.
She definitely

She has the original Optional Sport Styled Steering Wheel with Comfortilt, Left
Outside Remote Controlled Mirror, Factory "Four-Seasons Air Conditioning," and Tinted
Windows (All glass).
The Z25 SS396 option included Dual Exhaust, Black-Accented "SS" Grille, Power Disc
Brakes, Special Domed Hood, Sport Wheels, Wide-Oval White Lettered Tires, Wheel Opening
Moldings, Black Resilient "SS" Rear Bumper Panel, Bright Engine Accents, and Special
Chassis Features of which She has them All and More!
She is equipped with the Desirable Option ZL2, which is a Functional Cowl Induction
hood with a vacuum controlled "Flapper" that opens when the engine is under throttle
giving her little extra power. This Option was a package including the D88 Hood with
Deck Stripes and Hood Pins (hood pins were only standard with the ZL2 option package).
Contrary to popular belief bucket seats and/or gauges were not standard equipment.
She now has the Strato-Bucket with Strato-Ease Headrests seats with Center Console and
an Original SS396 Optional U14 Instrument Panel (The base 396 engines tachometers
redline at 5500 RPM. Original tachometers used three screws to mount the face.).
Her round gauge pod dash includes a clock, tachometer, speedometer, fuel, amp, and water
temperature gauges.
She Sports the Correct Clear Parking Lamp Lenses with Amber Bulbs and the Correct
1970 SS396 "SS" grille emblem with blacked-out bars and "SS" logo on the rear bumper
pad. A bi-product of the rear bumper pad was no rear bumper guards were possible on the
SS option due to the pad.
All SS396 optioned Chevelles came with a 12-bolt rear end but Positraction was still
an option. This Striking Chevelle has a non-positraction 12-bolt rear end from a 1968
Chevelle.

restored. He states that she was sold to him as an Original SS396 and has no reason to
doubt her authenticity, but, since he has no documentation, he would like to offer her
for sale as non-matching, non-original. As far as we can see, she has all the right equipment and options an SS396 should have.
