These 1961 Chrysler Imperial LeBaron's are nothing short of breathtaking to view and we have 2 of 1026 ever made.  One with 66,119 original miles, which is nothing less than a highly sought after find in Black and Chrome.  The second car is also originally Black and a parts car, but is has a number of highly sought after options, they include cruise control, the trunk continental kit, and completely intact in the trunk is the original rear air conditioning system. 

With nothing less than stunning good looks and incredible exclusivity you drove, or more likely were driven in, this exquisite car.  This one began its life as a proper Black Car with a two tone Black on White Leather Tuxedo style interior.  The two cars are essentially the same, but one has a great options list.  Both cars run and drive so you can decide which one to restore, between the two you will have nothing short on the most enviable ride!

With quad headlights set into nacelles under projecting front fenders flanking a finely-detailed chrome grille, sweeping rear fender fins and an angular formal roof line without center pillars, this 1961 Imperial LeBaron sedan recalled the formal design of Thirties Chrysler Imperials created by LeBaron's Ralph Roberts. Lavishly equipped and powered by Chrysler's 413 cubic inch V-8 with 350 brake horsepower, the LeBaron was further distinguished by brushed stainless steel roof panels above the doors that invited passengers into its lavish leather-upholstered and trimmed interior. Only 1,026 were built and just a few survive. 

Incredibly, most everything works, though certainly not nearly to the standard expected of the time.  This Imperial Runs & Drives and is in need of interior, body, and mechanical restoration.

The mechanicals are in operating condition, the engine runs and moves the vehicle, and the transmission shifts.  The major operating systems, including the electric windows, work though not with regularity, and not as they did in 1961.

Considering that this vehicle is 52 years old and has its original paint and only 66,119 original miles it is in overall good condition.  The frame, inner rockers, body panels, hood, trunk, and major supporting structures are in very good condition.  It is primarily in need of front and rear floors and a trunk pan.  Please see the pictures of the frame, pans, rockers, and overall body condition.

The dash, headliner, steering wheel, controls, headliner, and the overall interior are in very good condition with no cracks or major issues.  Given its age the sumptuously appointed dash and controls look fantastic.  Clearly the car is in need of upholstery for the front and rear seats and carpeting.  

This is a no post car and looks stunning with all of the windows down, this compliments the overall original design of the car.  Like all its counterparts in the era, everything is fully power-assisted even to the vent windows and seat. This is a very rare and exquisite automobile !
