Fleming’s Ultimate Garage, the USA’s largest volume classic and specialty car dealership, is proud to offer this spectacular and absolutely authentic 1970 Olds 442 Convertible. This stunning musclecar was treated to a full nut & bolt restoration a few short years back and has been driven very sparingly since. In fact, it has been driven very sparingly since it was new….we hold an actual mileage title that authenticates the 14,936 miles showing on the odometer to be original! The car was originally purchased, titled and registered to a corporation (perhaps for a tax write-off?) and for some reason, never really got driven. It presumably sat indoors for many years, with nobody paying much attention to the brute for many years before it was painstakingly restored to its original glory. We belive the carpets and upholstery are all original. Take a close look at the pictures of this spectacular car! This is not a trailer queen; rather, it was restored to DRIVE! For you trailer queen guys who are willing to forgo the driving experience and tow your 442 convertible around in a trailer worrying about whether a car is all numbers matching and that it has date correct 1970 air in the 45 year old belted tires, this is not the car for you. What this car happens to be is a very rare (1 of only 549 total 1970 442 convertibles built) with documented original miles of less than 15,000), a correct but not numbers matching, professionally rebuilt 455 engine with correct Ram-Air, factory 4-speed transmission (how many of these can be left?), factory Hurst shifter, original owner’s warranty portfolio with Protect-O-Plate, finished in its original color with white top, parchment interior, matching boot and Super Stock 1 wheels. This 442 convertible is without a doubt one of the finest we have ever had with exceptionally nice, mirror-finish, correctly coded (original) Fire Red paint in lustrous base coat/clear coat laid down on top of laser straight body panels. The paint is not perfect but I would give it a strong 8 ½ to 9 out of 10; if it were any nicer, you wouldn’t be able to drive it! The original fiberglass Ram-Air hood with white stripes (painted on and cleared over) really make the car “pop”. It is the ultimate cruiser with drop dead gorgeous good looks and period correct high-performance 455 c.i.d. / 365 hp engine that we estimate has at least 425 hp based on how well this Olds runs. The car is also equipped with a power convertible top, fast ratio power steering, power disc brakes (front), bucket seats, console, 4-spoke sport steering wheel w/ tilt column, factory A/C, Rocket Rally Pack with tick-tock tach, factory AM/FM Stereo Radio (not working), stock “Superstock 1” wheels mounted on brand new BF Goodrich Radial T/A Raised White Lettered  tires, beautiful chrome and stainless trim, moldings, etc. The Muncie 4-speed shifts flawlessly and the clutch feels perfect. The are no known mechanical issues with this car. It is ready to rock! The original (rebuilt) rear end with the W-27 finned aluminum cover is packed with a 3.91 Posi-Traction gearset; a factory option on the 1970 442. We have the original 3.42:1 ring & pinion in a box and it will go with the car in case you like your speeds high and your rpm’s lower. This car runs, looks, handles and sounds GREAT and with the 3.91’s, it is an ANIMAL! It is truly an iconic piece of American musclecar history that begs to be driven! In fact, many enthusiasts recognize the 442’s as the best riding musclecars ever built and this one is no exception.
