1962 VW Beetle Bug Yellow Beauty Sunroof Resto Mod

I am pleased to be able to offer this amazing 1962 VW Beetle "resto mod." Now that's something that I've never written before. Resto mod and Volkswagon Beetle don't seem to go together but this car really works.

For those of you who (like me) love the looks of the early Beetles, you traditionally have had to put up with the lackluster (understatement) performance of 1200cc 42hp engines. Imagine one of those classic Beetles with a brand new BAP 1776cc high performance engine (cost $2700), tuned exhaust, Petronix ignition, electric fuel pump, etc. that make the car actually fast! Then imagine that engine being installed in a rust-free example that was the recipient of a $3000 paint job, where the car was fully disassembled and painted inside and out, top and bottom with the new Beetle Yellow finish. Plus, new brakes, new clutch, new wiring harness, 4 speed trans rebuild… in fact the list of new items is too extensive to list, but a complete set of records comes with the car.

Next, add a completely new, correct interior, including seats, carpets, headliner, door panels, trunk liner, etc. that is all show quality. Top it off with a high-end Sony AM/FM/CD Stereo for road music, and you’ve got the coolest, hottest Beetle around. Car has only been driven approx. 6000 miles since it was built.

Ah! Almost forgot to mention two of the most important Beetle options of all: a full Webasto-style sunroof that opens over both the front and back seats; and the ever-popular Birchwood roof luggage rack. These two accessories add hundreds -- if not thousands -- to the car’s value (and enjoyment).

Please note that this is a heater delete car.

If you’ve always admired the Beetles, but were concerned that they may not be suitable for today’s driving, this Bug will change your mind forever. And, deliver the same high mileage that all the hybrids are shouting about. When was the last time someone waved at a Prius?

This is a great college car for your son or daughter or a great addition to any VW collection. It is in super condition with no flaws noted from the owner.

**If you are considering this car and worried that it will be swiped up by another admiring Ebayer, use the Buy it Now so that you can sleep comfortably at night knowing that the car is yours. Please note that if you hit the Buy it Now by mistake (as has happened in the past), you will be charged a $75 re-listing fee. Bid carefully.

Take advantage of proxy bidding: Don't loose the vehicle at the last minute! There have been many people who have lost bids in the past because they were not familiar with proxy bidding. When you bid, bid the maximum amount that you are willing to spend on the vehicle. Each time someone bids higher than your last bid, eBay will automatically increment your bid by the minimum bid amount until it reaches your maximum. Don't get stuck loosing a good deal!
