 History / Condition:

You are bidding on a two family owned, 1967 Coronet 500 convertible. Purchased brand new right here in the Motor City on February 15, 1967 at Colonial Dodge in East Detroit by a local St. Clair Shores family. Then purchased by the current owner’s family about 1975 / 76 and passed on from father to son (the current owner) just a few years ago. Never driven in the winter after its first year or two of life with original mileage. The car is in great “driver” condition. Repainted to the factory original color many years ago (in the 80’s) and the paint shows some age (some checking, etc) and the hood/truck could use to be wheeled/wet sanded to remove the oxidation on the paint surface. The engine compartment is clean and was lightly detailed within the past few years (components cleaned, parts re-painted, etc.). The 318 V-8 engine starts right up and runs well with no noted problems (no noted smoking, no known leaks - but could likely have minor drips here and there as most older collectables do). The automatic transmission shifts well, as it should. The power convertible top opens and closes as it should. Tires have excellent tread as you can see in the pictures. Over the years (and in the more recent years) the car has: Newer alternator, battery, power steering serviced with new hose, shocks, front and rear bumpers re-chromed, carpet replaced. The original wheel covers (hub caps) are included as well as the nice period correct wire wheel covers that are shown in the pictures. The car has been driven yearly as a summer pleasure car since the early 70’s and is ready to get in and drive with no known problems other than the likely and typical minor convenience issues (likely some courtesy lights do not work, a gauge here or there, etc.). As stated, this is a nice, solid, very presentable “Sunday driver” as they say, this is not a show car, but could be made into a show type car if someone desired. I have detailed pictures trying to show the usual and expected cosmetic issues one would find on a nice “driver” of this age.

I have this listed for sale for my neighbor and the only reason the car is being sold is that it is not being driven or used much anymore so it is time for it to go to a new home where it will be driven and enjoyed. Comes with the original Owner’s Manual that is filled out / typed with the full vehicle identification information and original buyer information (as shown in the pictures) as was done by the dealerships back in the day. Also includes the original Chrysler “build sheet” that I personally removed from the rear seat springs exactly where is was put when the vehicle was built.

I understand it can be hard purchasing an item like this via the web, sight unseen, etc. You only have the seller’s history, reputation, the pictures, etc. to go on. Therefore I have posted over 40 pictures of the car and tried to provide a detailed description to the best of my ability. I have bought and sold many, many collectable cars, bikes, and boats via ebay and the web over the years (please feel free to review my feedback in detail, you will see many of the collectable cars, bikes, etc. I have sold) and I try hard to do my best to make every transaction complete successfully – as I will do here.

Pickup / Shipping:

The winning bidder is responsible for pickup / shipping / transportation / etc. of the car. There are a number of good shipping / transport companies and I have shipped many cars, boats, motorcycles, etc. and I can assist the winning bidder with the transport, shipping, etc. I can also deliver the car as long as I am compensated for gas, time, etc. (within a reasonable distance) as I have a trailer I could transport it in. The car is located in Novi, MI (Novi is about 20 minutes West of Detroit Metro Airport).

 Terms:

Winning bidder to contact the seller within 24 hours of the auction's end and a non-refundable $300 deposit must be received within 24 hours of the auction’s close. The remaining balance is due within 6 days of the auction ending or at the time of pickup / delivery / etc., whichever is sooner. If other arrangements are needed please email me to discuss prior to bidding. The car is also for sale locally and I reserve the right to cancel the auction at any time. Bidders with feedback less than 10 or less than 98% positive must contact me prior to bidding. Now the standard verbiage: All information contained here is per the information available to me, as explained by owners / prior owners, records on the item, etc., etc. and its accuracy is to the best of my knowledge. I have tried to be as impartial, fair and accurate as possible regarding the item and it’s condition at the time of listing and as stated here and as is standard with the sale of used motorized items of this type - this item is being sold as is and as described to the best of my ability, with no warranty expressed or implied and the sale is final when full payment is received and item is picked-up / shipped / etc. You are bidding on a 40+ year old used car that has been in storage for much of its life, with likely the expected use/wear/ tear and age issues, cosmetic flaws, blemishes, etc. you may see on an item of this age (i.e. dings, nicks, scratches, chips, leaks, tears, peeling, cracking, scuffs, drips, wear, corrosion, oxidation, rust, tarnish, misc. repairs….etc.). You are not bidding on a show car, rather a “driver” as they are commonly referred to. In bidding here you are entering into a legally binding agreement to purchase this item, if you are the winning bidder you will have purchased the item, not the option to decide later if you want the item or not. You are welcome to inspect the item, ask questions, etc. and I encourage you to do so prior to bidding, especially if you have any concerns or questions regarding the item and/or its condition, just contact me and we can arrange a time.
