1983 DATSUN 280ZX

We are the third owner of this vehicle and have owned it since 1997. This car is in fantastic condition and looks just as good in person as it does in these photos. This car has never had an accident and has a clear Title. This Z has never been smoked in. Keep in mind this car is over thirty years old. I will try to list everything that is not original or does not work.

EXTERIOR

In 2000 the original hood was showing signs of rust at the nose. We replaced the hood with an original Nissan hood and had it painted to match the original paint. The pinstripes on the hood are painted not decals. In 2002 the front valance was replaced with a Nissan valance and painted. The original valance had no rust but was scraped up by the previous owner. At the same time the bottom of the rocker panels were re-sprayed because of a few small chips in the paint. Also we had the side mirrors repainted as they were losing their luster. In 2002 the front windshield was replaced. There is a very small ding in the left front fender (see picture). There are no other door dings. I believe the rest of the metal and paint is original.

INTERIOR

In 2002 the rear interior panel where the hatchback lock is was recovered and the headliner was replaced with a material that matched the original. The radio is original and yes the automatic antenna does work properly. The cassette player does not work. The radio has always worked, however a couple of months ago it would turn off on it's own. Lately the radio has worked every time and hasn't shut off unexpectedly. The digital clock does keep proper time but does not always illuminate. When you click or fully engage the turn signal lever for a right turn it doesn't blink. If you move the lever but not click it all the way for a right turn it does blink. I am sure there is an easy fix for this, I just haven't looked for it yet. I believe everything else in the interior is original and works. Also the T-Tops are original and do not leak. Included are the original T-Top shields for blocking too much sun and the original T-Top storage sleeves.

ENGINE, ETC

The engine is original and runs extremely well. Everything under the hood is original or has been replaced with original Nissan parts except for the battery. The original five speed transmission works well. The original air conditioning works very well. The muffler is brand new. The wheels are original and mounted on them are brand new Bridgestone Radial T/A tires with less than 100 miles. The tires have a transfereable road hazard warranty. We have always used Nissan brand replacement parts when available. For example, Nissan spark plug wires, belts and even Nissan oil filters. This car has won numerous awards at Z car shows in Texas and won Second Place in the Stock category for Datsun 280ZX's at the National Z Car Convention in 2002. I highly recommend that potential buyers or a third party inspect this car before purchase. According to N.A.D.A. the Low Retail price for this car is $3775, the Average Retail Price is $8,850 and the High Retail Price is $18,100. My reserve price is a bargain according to N.A.D.A.
