Vehicle Description

  • 460-cid V-8 engine
  • Three-speed C6 automatic transmission
  • Finished in Medium Lime with dark green leather interior
  • Vinyl top
  • Factory wheel covers
  • Many luxury appointments

The car comes finished in its original color of Light Green which was accented with a green vinyl roof. The paint is in great condition and shows only minor rock chips to the front of the car, which is typical of a car that’s been driven and loved its entire life. The original vinyl top is equally as nice with no bubbling underneath or tears to the vinyl. The front and rear chrome bumpers still have a great shine to them. There is a little bit of minor pitting to the mirrors. The doors shut tight and with ease and have good gaps all around them. All of the glass is in good condition with no chips or cracks to be found. This Lincoln has the stealthy hide-away headlights.

Under the hood the 460 c.i. V8 runs as smoothly as the day it was built, delivering every bit of the 365 hp it always has through the C6 automatic transmission. Everything under the hood is stock. The car goes down the road smoothly, shifts perfectly and is a pleasure to drive. It is equipped with power steering & power brakes. The car sits upon a set of 15” wheels with Continental hubcaps that are wrapped in P225/75R15 tires.

The Lincoln Continental Mark III was a luxury car offered in Lincoln’s Mark series sold between 1969 and 1971. The Mark III was created when Lee Iacocca, president of Ford Motor Company at the time, directed Design Vice President, Gene Bordinat, to "put a Rolls Royce grille on a Thunderbird” in September 1965. Intended to compete head-to-head with Cadillac's heavily redesigned front-wheel drive Eldorado, the Mark III made its debut a clear notch above less expensive, less well-appointed personal luxury cars such as the Ford Thunderbird, Buick Riviera and Oldsmobile Toronado. Standard equipment included power steering, brakes, windows, headlamps, and both front seats. The instrument panel and trim panels on the doors featured simulated wood appliques in either English Oak or East-Indian Rosewood. A vinyl roof in cavalry twill pattern was optional, and examples without the vinyl roof were rare. One reason for the rarity of the plain-roofed version is the fact that the roof was made in two pieces and required extra preparation at the factory to conceal the seam; consequently, its availability was not widely advertised. This particular car retains its 460-cid V-8 engine and three-speed C6 automatic transmission and is finished in Medium Lime with dark green leather interior.
