The Ford Model TT is a truck made by the Ford Motor Company. It was based on the Ford Model T, but with a heavier frame and rear axle, giving it a rating of 1 short ton.

The rear axle of the TT had a worm drive and crown wheel, unlike the Model T's crown wheel and pinion. The worm was located at the end of the drive shaft and above the crown wheel. The wheelbase of the Model TT was 125 inches, compared to 100 inches for the Model T. It was often equipped with an accessory gearbox, such as the Ruxtell or Jumbo gearboxes, which allowed the truck to have intermediate gears between low and high, useful for hill climbing. It was often sold as a chassis with the buyer supplying the truck body as needed. Mass production with Ford produced bodies ran from 1925 to 1927, but production of the Model TT had started with the first chassis being released in 1917. In 1923, it cost $380. In 1925, a hand operated windshield wiper was added.

It was very durable for the time, but slow when compared to other trucks. With standard gearing, a speed of not more than 15 mph, was recommended, and with special gearing, a speed of not more than 22 mph was recommended, according to Ford Dealers Data Book 1923. Standard worm gear ratio was 7.25:1, and special gearing gave a ratio of 5.17:1. Because of this, accessory catalogs offered items to help give the Model TT more power.

MotoeXotica Classic Cars is pleased to offer this incredible, rarely seen 1925 Ford Model TT. The body was built by John Singer out of Cuba, Missouri and is Body #020465. The exterior of the Model TT is finished in brightly varnished wood that has a beautiful gleam. The rest of the exterior is finished in a glossy black paint – which fell into the 1914 “any color so long as it is black” policy, implemented by Henry Ford. It is often stated that Ford suggested the use of black paint from 1914 to 1926 due to the cheap cost and durability of the black paint. The paint is in good condition, showing some minor imperfections. There are running board step plates on both sides of the car, as well as cowl lamps and brake lights, which all look excellent. Overall, this is an exceptional looking Model TT and very seldom will many see one in this superb of shape!

The interior of the Model TT is exceptionally simple. There are two rows of seats in the car, both have bench seats wrapped in brown vinyl that look great and show no signs of wear or tear. The black dash only has an amp gauge. The varnished wood inside the car looks just as great as the outside.

Under the hood, you’ll find an Inline 4 cylinder engine attached to a manual transmission. Both the engine and transmission were rebuilt in the recent past by Mac’s Antique Auto so that it could run off of unleaded fuel. This particular Model TT does have the crank that most old cars and best known for! The car sits upon a set of black wheels with wood spokes wrapped in 30 x 3 1/2 tires.

This 1927 Ford Model TT is in show room condition and is not only hard to find but rarely seen out in the public. This Model TT would make an excellent addition to any car collection or as an investment vehicle. The VIN is 12831671. GET OUT AND DRIVE!!!
