Now we see some pretty cool rides come through here, from ultra low mileage late model collectibles to nut and bolt restored classic muscle cars, but not one has ever garnered as much respect for the incredible attention to detail and vision for such a well executed custom as this truly one-of-a-kind 1978 El Camino pro street that came to us via a trade in from the gentleman who built the vehicle himself. Purchased as an unfinished project car with the narrowed 4-link rear axle and tubbed, the stage was set for one of the cleanest, no expense spared, perfectly executed customs you will find anywhere at any price. With well over $45,000 in parts, donor vehicle, bodywork, time, and paint, the end result is truly a work that I can't begin to describe in words or convey through mere photos. Everything about this car is right, from the stick straight body with perfect gaps and panel fitment, to the truly incredible show quality paint job done in Jaguar colors. Every part on the car is high end, including the endless list of custom parts from the likes of Choo Choo Customs and Honest Charlie, the very best names in El Camino restoration. The American Racing wheels are shod in Mickey Thompson Sportsman 29x15.5R15 monster rear street slicks and the obligatory skinnies in front. The interior sports a custom made, custom painted dash that was the result of several prior mock ups before settling on the show quality result fitted with a full array of Cyberdyne gauges. The custom racing bucket seats are complemented by a set of 4 point racing harnesses and separated by a custom center console housing a CD player, B&M shifter with manual option, and a full complement of switches and controls including switches for the fully operational (although never filled or used) NOS brand Nitrous Oxide system, Line lock, NOS purge valve with led strobe to accent the windshield mounted spray, and functional water spray system to spray water onto the rear tires for burnouts! Under the Gaylords Lids rear cover is a fully carpeted cargo area with cruise in tailgating speakers, storage compartments, custom wiring harness and fuse box, even a custom carpeted bowtie logo under the lid and barb wire striping around the matching painted bed. Inside is a full folder of receipts, lists of parts, title copies and more, as well as extra carpet and vinyl, matching painted cooler, and matching painted helmet. Of course the bed and interior have full LED accent lighting for night time showing. The powertrain is simple and reliable, albeit making all the right sounds to give the impression of a 9 second ET monster. A GM 350 CID powerplant and 3spd automatic transmission power the vehicle well with the custom headers, exhaust, and giant lift cam give it that drag strip lumpy idle and head turning sound. The car rund and rides great with great braking from the front disc brakes and easy steering from the power assisted steering system. Even little details like the #1 Chevy logos etched into the glass and custom pinstriping by world famous artist Bill Roell are not without mention. I could simply go on and on all day about the incredible details of this special labor of love, but I simply can't do the vehicle justice. Of course the car comes with a CD full of hundreds of photos documenting the complete restoration process as well as a copy of the title to the donor vehicle with just 117K original miles on the odometer, while the new odometer installed when the restoration was done in 2008 shows just 310 miles since completion. If you are looking for that one-of-a-kind El Camino street machine with attention to detail like nothing else on the market, don't let this once in a lifetime opportunity pass you by. We reserve the right to cancel all bids and end an auction early should the vehicle no longer be available for sale. The following terms of sale apply to all of our auctions.

Payment Terms: The successful high bidder will submit a $1,000 non-refundable deposit within 2 business days of the close of the auction to secure the vehicle. Buyer agrees to pay remaining balance due (plus applicable fees and taxes) within 5 days of the close of the auction. All financial transactions must be completed before delivery of the vehicle.

Payment Methods: Cash in person, certified check, or 3rd-party financing.

Fees and Taxes: Unlike many other Ebay sellers, The Auto Livery does not charge ANY fees for paperwork, titlework or temporary plates. All final selling prices include all necessary paperwork, titlework, and a 30 day Ohio Temporary Plate. All OH residents will be charged sales tax based on their county at the time of sale. All out of state residents are not charged any OH taxes by The Auto Livery. All out of state residents will receive an OH non-resident title perfected in their name within 30 days after payment and paperwork is received. The Auto Livery will collect sales tax for the resident of the states of AZ, CA, FL, IN, MA, MI, SC, and WA. These taxes are the rates in your state and will be forwarded by OH to your state so you will NOT be paying taxes twice. I describe every aspect of every car I offer, down to whether there has been any paintwork, the brand and tread depth of tires, etc. If you don't find these in decriptions of other cars, they probably have something to hide! Please keep in mind that the vehicles we offer are used, and being used will have some NORMAL wear which will vary based on year and mileage. All cars I sell are used and things like minor rock chips, small paint chips, windshield stars, etc. are to be expected. Any wear not deemed as normal will be disclosed in the description. Paintwork done on bumpers is considered normal on any car and is difficult to detect, therefore I will not be responsible for disclosing it. Cars older that five years or having more than 50,000 miles are expected to have had some minor paintwork and known paintwork may not be disclosed. I use traditional methods of detecting paintwork and although an expert, may miss some very good cosmetic paintwork on some vehicles. Some paintwork just can't be seen. I describe all cars condition relevent to their age and mileage. What is described as excellent on a ten year old 60k mile car, may not be as excellent as on a two year old 15k mile car. As used vehicles, cars do not always come with things like books, manuals, extra keys, or remotes. If these items are important, please ask before bidding.
