Please note that experience shows us that the photobucket of over 100 large pixel pictures posted here are in most cases best viewed and downloaded using the very latest and most updated version of the 'Firefox' browser as some other browsers and especially older browser versions are not capable of accommodating the size of the download. Over the years our clients have overwhelmingly been appreciative of our many unaltered large pixel photos posted in our ads and our feedback has been that it is very rare that a dealer will post all but the most flattering of professionally finished photographs. We prefer to post the many photos taken of the car, in sometimes unflattering but natural sunlight, in order for our prospective buyers to be able to see true and reliable images of the car advertised and that is the reason for some seemingly duplicated shots. We trust you will agree.

West Coast Classics are proud to present an absolutely exceptional condition example of this 1988 Ferrari 328 GTS Targa Coupe in the beautiful and highly desirable color combination of original factory 'Nero Metallic' Ferrari metallic black exterior paint with tan leather seats interior with factory options of air conditioning and metallic paint, removeable roof panel and with only 47,200 original miles! Purchased originally in Lake Forest, Illinois and brought to southern California in 1991 as an always non-smoking owners car which has always been serviced on schedule at primarily Ferrari dealerships or specialists since new including in most recent years at 'Ferarri & Maserati of Newport Beach' California, 'Ferrari Service of Costa Mesa', California and the renown 'Ferrari Technologies' of Orange, California where the car recently received a full 5K miles service at 46,646 miles in 2/2104 at a cost of $6,933.47.

As Ferrari's compact cars evolved they grew in both size and reputation. After the progression from 206 to 308 the next evolution was the 328 which debuted in Frankfurt in 1985 and what an evolution it was. Following on form, the initially controversial but ultimately very successful 308 series was the second generation of Ferrari's mid engined V8 range which enjoyed a lifespan of over a dozen years and spawned more than half as many as the total number of cars Ferrari had ever built since beginning business in 1948 to the coming of the 308 GT/4 in 1973! So the importance of the next progression was obvious and from the start the 328 family was a full range offered in the usual GTB Berlinetta and the GTS Spyder options. Following Ferrari convention, the new numbers revealed that the capacity of the four cam 32 valve V8 had grown again, this time to 3.2 liters. Power was increased to 270 bhp meaning that the engine as well as being bigger developed more power for each liter. The same transverse engine location and five speed manual gearbox plus disc brakes all round remained the same. Although the 328 was not a hugely different car from its predecessor it is known to be a much better one. It was quicker with a top speed of over 160 mph and 0-60 mph in under 6 seconds but more significant was the peak torque which had increased by an even bigger percentage than the power. This means that the 328 is more flexible and therefore much more relaxing to drive gently or in traffic. Also only some 6,068 328 GTS's were built during its 1985-89 production run making it a much rarer car than its predecessor the 308 with more than double that number built.

The car will be sold with recent service records and its original factory tools. Driven only sparingly, never seen rain or bad weather, always garaged in sunny southern California since 1991 and always well maintained and serviced at Ferrari specialists since new with literally thousand and thousands of dollars spent in preventive maintenance as required over the years; including new timing belts and water pump, various seals and hoses. The car boasts 4 virtually new Michelin 205/55ZR16 Pilot Sport tires.

Always garaged with absolutely no accidents and rare for these models no rust whatsoever and owned by only obviously very careful and meticulous mature drivers since new - never raced or abused, complete with all original service records and with documented mileage. The original rare factory option of 'Nero Metallic' paint is in absolutely beautiful condition with virtually no noticeable imperfections and the completely original tan leather interior with its original Ferrari leather skins is also in beautiful condition with virtually no signs of any wear and only very mild patina if any. All the options are working as they should including the rare factory option of ice-cold A/C. The car also boasts the optional rear aerofoil and leather dashboard. The cars original flat spoke 'star' wheels are uncurbed and unblemished and the original spare has not ever been used.

The car drives exactly like a well maintained and serviced low mileage 328 GTS should and must be driven to be fully appreciated and seen to be believed! This is how you want to buy them with well maintained low miles, not undriven and unused cars with everything from hydraulic systems to rubber suspension pieces, from shock absorbers to gaskets and seals all deteriorated and perished without use. It is also noteworthy that it is easy to disconnect the speedometer on the 308/328's so beware of ultra low mileage examples without records. Any enthusiast will agree that ideally you want a 308/328 that has received both moderate use and regular service. The engine on this particular example boasts both moderate miles and a very well maintained service history with the engine proving extremely strong with no noticeable oil leaks, the clutch has a very smooth transmission shift and the temperature always remains cool. You will surely look long and hard to find a finer example of this exceptionally clean and increasingly collectible and legendary 328 GTS Targa V8 Coupe.
