1913 Ford Model T Touring

1913 Ford Model T Touring

Beautiful dark green brass era T Touring car! 101 years old and as stylish as ever! A perfect piece for the seasoned Ford collector or beginner alike!

Ford Model T production began in 1908 in limited numbers at Ford’s Piquette plant. They only managed to build 11 cars in the whole first month of production. By 1913, the assembly line was in full swing and had drastically sped up the process, with Ford able to build a Model T in only 93 minutes. With cars coming off the line in 3 minute intervals, the economy of scale was altered so that a Model T only cost $240 to own. As a result, over 15,000,000 of them were built before production stopped in late May of 1927.

We are very excited to offer this 1913 Ford Model T Touring! Contrary to popular belief, early Model Ts were indeed offered in a choice of several understated colors and this particular car is finished in Brewster Green with Black fenders and a black buttoned vinyl interior. The car is powered by a sequence-correct July 1913 201.5ci Inline 4 mated to a planetary gearbox. The car is fitted with a host of delectable brass items including radiator, headlights, Boyce Motometer, horn, upper steering column, miscellaneous trim and more! In addition, the car is fitted with a rear light, luggage rack, Ford standard speedometer, KW ignition, front rubber “Ford” floor mat, rear carpet, brass driver side-view mirror and driver side-mount spare. The car rides on its traditional wooden wheels with 30x3 Commander tires.

This 3-owner Model T started life in Iowa before making its way to the Kansas City area in the 50s. It was purchased by the third owner in 1997 following a full restoration of the interior, exterior and undercarriage. The original motor was rebuilt and reinstalled with Kevlar bands at this time. The car was lovingly owned and driven mostly in parades and social gatherings. The car comes with a very comprehensive set of tools and accessories (seen below) as well as a “1913 Ford” brass license plate frame. It continues to use the proper crank start procedure and fires on the first turn even 101 years later! This T runs as good as ever and is large enough to take several friends along for the ride. There are few things that say understated style like a brass-era T and while the restoration on this car is approaching 20 years old, all surfaces show incredibly well and it continues to turn heads. We would be more than happy to answer any additional questions on this T Touring; please don’t hesitate to ask! Thanks for looking!
