THEY ARE: BBS LIGHT WEIGHT FORGED WHEELS, A MCINTOSH AUDIO SYSTEM, PAINTED BRAKE CALIPERS, AND RACING STRIPES.LIKE THE ORIGINAL, THE MODERN GT IS NOT BASED ON ANOTHER PRODUCTION CAR. IT USES AN ALUMINUM BODY BOLTED TO AN ALUMINUM SPACE FRAME AND IS POWERED BY AN ALL ALUMINUM ENGINE, A MID MOUNTED 5.4L V-8 THAT DRIVES THE REAR WHEELS THROUGH A 6 SPEED MANUAL TRANSMISSION.. THE ENGINE'S OUTPUT OF 550 HP AND 500 LB.-FT. OF TORQUE IS SIMILAR TO THAT OF THE 7.0L V-8 THAT POWERED THE GT40 TO VICTORY AT THE 24 HOURS OF LEMANS IN 1966 and 1967. A RACING SUSPENSION WITH COIL-OVER SHOCK SPRINGS, 19-INCH BBS CAST ALUMINUM WHEELS, AND GOODYEAR F1 TIRES HOLD THE GT TO THE GROUND, WHILE ANTI-LOCK BRAKES WITH FOUR-PISTON BREMBO BRAKES BRING IT TO A STOP.WHERE THE GT PARTS FROM ITS RACING PREDECESSOR IS ITS STANDARD LEVEL OF EQUIPMENT.
