i got a 1999 Volvo V70R wagon. AWD big turbo automatic. 208k. custom
intake lowered on springs.
beige leather with suede inserts. heated fronts. folding rear seat lots of room. could use a good cleaning and detail inside and out. bodys in great shape. now for the problem. ive talked to about 7 different techs from 4 diff volvo dealers. its hard to start and the ets light on the dash is on which means throttle body failure. very common problem with this body V70R. only thing it needs is a new throttle body and would be a great daily driver for the winter. it has a hesitant time starting, a few key turns and it will start up and right now the car is in limp mode because of the throttle body it only drives about 10-20mph. this means you will not be driving it away it must be trailered. this is the only problem that i am aware of and once the throttle body is replaced this should go away. Anybody interested please TEXT 2036405081. i have more pics and also a video of the car running. i can take any other pics of anything anyone wants to see that i dont already have pics of. kbb value of the car is over $5k and even in fair condition is still over $4k. im selling it as-is im asking $1600. any negotiations going towards down payment and purchasing the vehicle are final. if for any reason buyer is to back out of purchase before delivery then any down payments will be forfeited as any down payment is NON-REFUNDABLE. |

Volvo previews Concept XC Coupe ahead of Detroit reveal [w/video]
Wed, 11 Dec 2013Volvo is in the midst of a three-stage design revolution. The first stage came with the reveal of the Concept Coupe in Frankfurt just this past September. What you see here is our first glimpse at the second stage.
The Volvo Concept XC Coupe previewed here will be unveiled in full on January 8 in advance of the Detroit Auto Show. While the previous concept was all sleek, the Concept XC Coupe takes a more rugged, utilitarian approach with a hatchback roofline, higher ride height, knobbier tires, lower body cladding and a rooftop box. From what we can see, it looks like a cross between the previous concept and an XC70 wagon that could preview a soft-road replacement for the C30 hatchback.

Volvo debuts new Drive-E four-cylinder engines

Volvo is introducing a new engine family based on its new Drive-E philosophy, which encompasses "all innovations made to reduce the impact on the environment," the automaker says. Less cylinders allows for less environmental impact, so the new engines are all four-pots. They also were designed to pair easily with Volvo's upcoming hybrid drive system, which "will reach power figures in the V8 territory" and play a "dominant part of the top end of [Volvo's] range," says Derek Crabb, Vice President Powertrain Engineering. Volvo also says we can expect "power curves that give exciting drivability compared with engines with more cylinders."
Volvo says some versions of the engine were designed targeting best-in-class fuel economy. There are both gasoline and diesel options, but the latter of which isn't scheduled for US consumption. Instead, the US will be offered two states of tune of the gasoline Drive-E engine for front-wheel-drive vehicles. Some of Volvo's current all-wheel-drive powertrains will remain available in the US until the company has transitioned solely to the new, fuel-efficient inline-fours.
Volvo launches next-gen Sensus Connect infotainment system [w/videos]
Fri, 10 Jan 2014To borrow a line from another automaker, the Volvo S60 has the power to surprise - it's likely not top of mind for most entry-level luxury sedan buyers, but it's good enough that it probably should be. There's long been one pretty serious chink in its armor, though, and that goes for the company's entire model line: infotainment. The Swedish marque's offerings just haven't been that feature-rich, but Volvo is working to improve things with its updated Sensus Connect, a suite of functions just launched at this week's CES in Las Vegas.
The new system updates center on cloud-based connectivity advancements that include a novel Park&Pay feature that allows drivers to search for parking and pay for their space from the comfort of their car. Other functions that show off the diversity of Sensus Connect include embedded, Pandora-streaming internet radio, Wikipedia, remote start via smart phone, dealer appointment booking, destination attraction searches and an available wifi hotspot.
All of this increased functionality sounds like a big step in the right direction, and Volvo is noting it has refreshed the system's interface with "graphically themed center and driver displays" along with improved voice control and text-to-speech capabilities.
