I brought this 2005 Volvo Type R from Florida and Car fax reports no accidents or damage of any kind aside from an error reporting at one of the auto auctions. Brand New tires, CEM (Central Electronic Module), and DIM (Drivers Information Module) Brembo brakes, Moonroof, Premium sound, HID (12000K) lights, Dual power heated leather seats, 6spd, Adjust the suspension with the push of a button, and so much more. Drives perfect. Buy it cheaper then all of the ones you can find on Autotrader.com. Title in hand. Started a business and it got busy, and I have no time to make it perfect. I've driven it only a few times. The car itself was not stolen but parts inside and outside were stolen. It does need an ABS module as the abs light occasionally goes on and off by itself ($149 Ebay), but brakes work perfect, and it has a S80 radio instead of a S60, so it would need a swap as it sometimes causes communication problems on the low speed network modules causing idiot lights to pop on every now and then, and it shuts down the dim ($160 Ebay plus $89 reprograming). Small scratches on lower part of front bumper (see picture), but No dents or current damage of any kind, and the seats show no wear.  The mileage of the car is somewhere around 78k but the new dim shows 106k... Will assist with shipping if needed. It's really a beautiful car, fun to drive, so comfortable, and when I drove it from Florida never had no problems, and received lots of thumbs up.

Volvo returns to profitability

Tue, 14 Jan 2014

Ford sold Volvo to Zhejiang Geely Holding Group Limited in 2010. Just two years later, Geely announced an $11-billion investment in the Swedish carmaker, its charismatic fugleman Li Shifu saying, "We want to revive Volvo and give the brand its strength back." Two years later, after having introduced the Concept XC Coupe at the Detroit Auto Show this week, Volvo CEO Håkan Samuelsson (above, second from right) declared the company profitable again after a solid 2013 and predicted a positive 2014.
Intending to break even on operating profit in 2013, Volvo exceeded expectations and landed on the plus side due to a mix of factors. US sales declined 10.1 percent for the year to 61,233, that number still making us Volvo's largest market, but Chinese sales were up nearly 46 percent to 61,146 units, and even its home market saw a bump of 0.8 percent; total sales for the year were 427,840, a margin of 1.4-percent over the previous year. Volvo was able to do more with the tiny gain and reverse its half-year operating loss because of a global cost restructuring and thorough revamp of its Chinese distribution network. An announcement of 2013's financial results will come in March.
Bullishness on 2014 comes from the company's intention to focus on its two biggest markets with new models, new technology and more spending. The first product of an independent Volvo, the new XC90, will be revealed later this year on the new SPA architecture. On top of the Sensus Connect infotainment system, Volvo will add driver-aid systems like adaptive cruise control with steer assist and night-time pedestrian detection. It also has a new North American CEO and will spend more on marketing and communications here. In China it will begin to feel more effect from the two Chinese factories opened last year - it has three in the country - and, if need be, can take advantage of more advantageous exchange rates by exporting from China instead of the US. Said Samuelsson of what he expects in the US in 2014, "we will outperform the market."

1969 Volvo P1800 gasser wins 2021 Hot Wheels Legends Tour

Mon, Nov 15 2021

Hot Wheels has announced the winner of the 2021 Legends Tour: it's a 1969 Volvo P1800 gasser owned by England-based Lee Johnstone. Built from a bare shell, the V8-powered hot rod will join the toy manufacturer's catalog of 1/64-scale model by the end of 2022. Designers and key figures from the automotive industry chose the P1800 after looking at contestants from 11 countries on five continents. The list of finalists also included a 1991 Porsche 911 turned into a Baja race car, a 1969 Dodge Charger fitted with extra-wide tires and powered by a Richard Petty V8 engine tuned to 740 horsepower, and a 1968 Mercedes-Benz 250S called High Class that rides on a frame sourced from a 1984 Chevrolet S-10. Substantial skill and originality went into each build, but Johnstone's hot rod stood out above the rest. "The Volvo Gasser is a wonderful expression of authenticity, creativity, and most importantly garage spirit," said Ted Wu, the vice president and global head of design for vehicles at Mattel. Wu was one of the panelists that picked the P1800. Johnstone explained his P1800 was little more than a rusty shell that was too far gone to restore when he acquired it. Instead of scrapping it, he decided to build it into a gasser powered by a 454-cubic-inch V8 plucked from the Chevrolet parts bin and supercharged to develop around 600 horsepower. Fitted with dual four-barrel carburetors, and nicknamed "Ain't no Saint," it reportedly runs a 10.01-second quarter mile at 133 mph. Johnstone regularly races the P1800 in the United Kingdom with help from his three daughter and his wife, Sue. Hot Wheels is scheduled to release the P1800 in late 2022, Autoblog learned from a spokesperson. Turning a car into a toy is a surprisingly lengthy and meticulous process that involves collecting numerous photos, converting them into sketches (and, if needed, tweaking some of the proportions to better fit the 1/64 scale), making a 3D digital model using a software called Freeform, and printing test cars. Volvo Cars' May sales rise 13%, boosted by electric vehicles

Wed, Jun 5 2024

STOCKHOLM — Volvo Cars' sales rose to 68,034 cars in May, up 13% from a year earlier, buoyed by a 27% jump in Europe and a strong performance by its fully electric EX30, the group said on Wednesday. Sales of fully electric and plug-in hybrid models rose 37% to account for 48% of group sales globally, Sweden-based Volvo Cars, which is majority-owned by China's Geely Holding, said in a statement. "This month's sales figures are another measure of our progress towards our sales target of at least 15% growth for 2024," it said. However, sales in the United States and China fell by 5% and 1%, respectively. Shares in the company were up 1.9% by 0755 GMT. Volvo Cars aims to have electric vehicles account for half of its sales by volume by mid-decade and hopes to sell only EVs by 2030.   Featured Gallery Volvo EX30 View 22 Photos Earnings/Financials Green Volvo Electric
