Here is a Volvo Amazon 121 ice track racer from nothern Sweden. The car has a heavily tuned B18B engine with a weber DVGA and an R-cam. There has probably been done some work to the head too, the compression is about 9,5 on all cylinders. The car is low geared ad has a J type overdrive, and I am quite sure it has a locking differential too as it makes wheel spin on both wheels. The car doesnt have a lot of power at low rpm, but pulls hard above 3000. Clutch is very narrow, so is probably a racing clutch. The car has the least rusty body I have seen on a original Amazon for a very long time, even the panels are straight and solid The bottom of the car is rust free too apart from a 4 cm hole underneath the driver seat. The only place that the car ever been welded is the 2 lower rear panels behind the rear wheels. You will need to change the panels that hold the front wings and the two lower pieces behind the rear wheels, I would consider selling the car as parts, let me know your offers on the specific parts. The car is still on swedish papers If you need to see more pictures, feel free to ask. The car starts, steers and brakes as it should, the gearbox works too and has a nice tight feeling to it. I am 100% sure that the car is in its original paint exept for the front and front wings. Volvo to shake off Ford ties with new platforms, engines

It would seem Volvo is finally getting around to throwing all of Ford's things out of the apartment. Automotive News reports the Swedish automaker is preparing to unleash a range of new engines as well as a fresh platform designed entirely in house. The powerplants include an all-new four-cylinder engine set to bow before the end of this year before arriving in the US by 2014. Shortly thereafter, the world should get its first glimpse at the next-generation XC60, which will the company's first model to make use of the Volvo scalable platform architecture (SPA). US buyers can expect to see that machine on their roads by early 2015.
The next V70 and S80 will also use the SPA, though those models will carry V90 and S90 designations when they hit dealer floors. But that doesn't mean Volvo has completely weened itself off of Ford technology. The V40 will continue to ride on Ford bones until the model's next chassis can be co-developed between Volvo and Geely.
Volvo shows off 345-hp S60 and V60 Polestar
Thu, 06 Feb 2014We showed you the hot, new Volvo V60 Polestar a few months back and raved about the fact that this long-roofed family car can hit 60 miles per hour in just 4.9 seconds. Now, we're seeing it and its four-doored brother, the S60 Polestar sedan, in person for the first time.
As we told you when the V60 Polestar was unveiled, both cars are motivated by a 3.0-liter, turbocharged six-cylinder that generates 345 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque, with peak twist arriving between 2,800 and 4,750. Power is channeled to a rear-biased all-wheel-drive system via a six-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters and launch control.
Both Polestar models benefit from a suspension that features Öhlins shocks, while they ride on 20-inch "bespoke" wheels. Six-cylinder Brembo calipers clamp down on 14.6-inch rotors in front, meaning these Volvos should come to a stop as quickly as they get going.
Volvo confirms unnamed US model reveal for NY show
Thu, 21 Mar 2013Tucked into the press release for the "display debut" of the Volvo V60 Plug-In Hybrid at the New York Auto Show, Volvo snuck in a single line announcing that it will also be introducing a new model for the North American market. As much as we'd love to see the svelte V40 on American roads, we're pretty sure the automaker is looking to fill its US station wagon void with the V60.
The 2014 Volvo V60 is part of a comprehensive lineup update that was unveiled earlier this month in Geneva, and it would give Volvo dealers a conventional wagon (not including the XC70) for the first time since the V70 and V50 were killed off. We'll still be keeping our fingers crossed for the stylish V40 hatchback or the fuel-efficient V60 diesel hybrid, but we have to wait until next week to find out for sure.
