1993 Volvo 240 Abs Srs Ever Safe & Reliable Original Car With Tasteful Upgrades on 2040-cars
Bath, Maine, United States
Up for auction is my 1993 Volvo 240 Sedan. This is a well maintained car that currently does not need any maintenance...just a new owner to pile on the miles. A new Subaru Outback forces sale. This Volvo is currently Maine inspected and registered and insured. This Volvo has had the following maintenance over the last 18 months: New front Boge struts and KYB rear shocks, front rotors and brake pads, rear as well, tie rod ends w/ alignment, air filter, plugs, ignition wires and cap and rotor, water pump, ALL vehicle fluids changed with premium products, timing belt inspection, muffler. This Volvo has the following Upgrades: Front and rear IPD brand suspension sway bars, Sony Blue tooth CD stereo w/ aux/usb port, tachometer, and volt gauges, leather front head restraint inserts, heated front seats and a full set of four Bridgstone Blizzak snow tires (currently installed) that make this car a gem in snow and ice, four all season tires and wheels included with extra oem Volvo hubcaps, Thule roof rack. The car is in great original condition with original paint showing expected chips and scratches but nothing major. There is a dented area along the passenger side door, upper molding (see photos)...not too noticeable though. There are no front door-map pockets and the center console plastic is cracked. The A/C is factory 134a and does blow cold, however, we did recharge it once during the summer ($8.00 a can in auto stores) . This Volvo 240 is a great reliable driver. Inspections and licensed test drives are welcome. Thanks for looking.

Volvo confirms unnamed US model reveal for NY show
Thu, 21 Mar 2013Tucked into the press release for the "display debut" of the Volvo V60 Plug-In Hybrid at the New York Auto Show, Volvo snuck in a single line announcing that it will also be introducing a new model for the North American market. As much as we'd love to see the svelte V40 on American roads, we're pretty sure the automaker is looking to fill its US station wagon void with the V60.
The 2014 Volvo V60 is part of a comprehensive lineup update that was unveiled earlier this month in Geneva, and it would give Volvo dealers a conventional wagon (not including the XC70) for the first time since the V70 and V50 were killed off. We'll still be keeping our fingers crossed for the stylish V40 hatchback or the fuel-efficient V60 diesel hybrid, but we have to wait until next week to find out for sure.
2015 Volvo S60 T6 Drive-E
Wed, 23 Apr 2014For those not paying attention, Volvo has updated its S60 sedan range for 2015 with a new range of engines under the Drive-E label. Wearing the same T5 and T6 badges to note the relative levels of power under the hood, both engines are 2.0-liter four-cylinders, with the lesser being turbocharged and the greater being both supercharged and turbocharged.
Both Drive-E variants are currently only available in front-wheel-drive flavor, though Volvo will still happily sell you an S60 T5 AWD with the older 2.5-liter turbo five-cylinder, or a top-of-the-line S60 T6 with a turbo'd 3.0-liter six-cylinder and all the wheels turning.
The car I drove for a week is perhaps the most balanced version of the S60 range, with that exotic sounding twin-charged 2.0-liter mill planted happily in the attractively sloping nose. Provided you're not hung up on front-drive dynamics, the T6 Drive-E might be a solid candidate for your next premium small sedan shopping list, as well.
Polestar looking to tune Volvo CUVs
Sun, 19 Oct 2014Volvo is getting serious about emerging from the fringes and into the mainstream of the luxury automobile market. But if it's going to challenge the Germans, it's going to need a performance line. And that's just what it's developing with Polestar.
Building on the motorsport partnership that has seen Polestar represent Volvo in the Scandinavian Touring Car Championship, World Touring Car Championship and V8 Supercars series, Polestar has been charged with developing road-going performance Volvos as well. It currently offers comprehensively tuned versions of the S60 and V60, as well as engine upgrades for other models, but the latest word has it that Polestar will turn its attention next to tuning Volvo crossovers like the XC60 and the new XC90, pictured above in top-spec R-Design trim.
Details on how Volvo would modify those models remain to be determined, but it wouldn't be much of a stretch to imagine the XC60 outfitted with similar enhancements to those offered on its sedan and wagon stablemates to mount a challenge to the Audi SQ5. As for the larger XC90, it seems Volvo is already squeezing as much out of its new 2.0-liter triple-charged inline-four as it can, but more aggressive handling, aero and brakes could stand to transform the flagship crossover in pursuit of performance utes like the Mercedes ML63 AMG and BMW X5 M, even if it couldn't quite match their impressive horsepower outputs.
