Custom built 1968 Karmann Ghia built at three custom shops in Las Vegas, Nevada. Front end narrowed, and adjustable beam, 64 headlight buckets, custom tubular reinforcement throughout vehicle. Custom interior within the cab, front and engine compartment. Vehicle tubbed for 10 inch wheels with 3.5 inch offset. Custom ceramic headers with Magna-flow exhaust. New custom built 200 HP EJ-25 engine built by Outfront Motorsports in California. New 4 way disc brakes drilled for Ford wheels. E-Stopp electric parking brake, all push button switches, Samsung Galaxy mini pad to run navigation, speed/heading and music. Roof cut off and windshield dropped 2 inches and swept back giving it a roadster look. Custom 4 link rear suspension with QA1 shocks and 550 pound coil overs. GM after market chrome steering column with tilt wheel, new painless wiring throughout, killer sound system, Pro-line wheels and new tires with less than 200 miles on them. New Transaxle with Sway Away heavy duty racing axles and 3:88 R&P along with a super Diff. Vehicle has only been shown in the Las Vegas area and has won 3 Best of Show awards, along with best paint, best upholstery, crowd pleaser, and Henderson Police Department pick. I get more attention with this car than I ever did with my Porsche's or Corvette. There is far too much to list in this add for a build like this. Volkswagen to add 50k jobs by 2018
Thu, 04 Apr 2013Volkswagen still has its eyes set on becoming the top global automaker by 2018, and to get there, it's apparently going to need more boots on the ground. Automotive News Europe is reporting that VW is looking to increase its staff by 50,000 over the next five years - an increase of nine percent - which does not include an increase in its US dealer network.
According to the report, a majority of the growth will come from China where the automaker is also looking to double its production capacity in the same time frame. The Volkswagen Group is already expected to rival General Motors for the top sales spot in China this year, and such a rapid expansion in the region could make a good springboard for sales increases in other countries.
North American production of foreign marques to jump in 2014
Sun, 23 Dec 2012Wards Auto has released its North American Light Vehicle Production Forecast for 2014, and the report predicts foreign manufacturers will increase production on the continent some 3.9 percent by 2014. If accurate, that should see 123,000 additional cars, trucks and vans produced in North America, swelling the total number of units produced both by domestic and foreign manufacturers to 16.9 million light vehicles from a projected 15.6 million in 2013. Much of the increase can be attributed to the fact that Toyota intends to produce another car at its Blue Springs, MS plant as well as a new Lexus model at its Georgetown, KY facility in a year's time.
Likewise, Volkswagen intends to move production of a currently imported model to its plant in Puebla, Mexico. Daimler, Honda, Nissan and Mazda also plan to build additional models on North American soil for the first time. Around two-thirds of the new North American manufacturing will take place in Mexico, helping the country soak up a full 20 percent of the content's automotive production for the first time. VW debuts Get Happy Super Bowl ad

Brace yourself for another tidal wave of Super Bowl commercials. Volkswagen has released its spot for this year's big game. Set to air during the second quarter, the Get Happy spot follows one jubilant office worker as he makes his way through the day, spreading joy wherever he goes. The source of his happiness? A Volkswagen Beetle, of course. Now, if you're wondering why a gaggle of white guys are running around on your screen with Jamaican accents, it will help to know the spot is part of a larger Get Happy campaign featuring Jimmy Cliff.
The first ad in the series featured the artist singing his rendition of "C'Mon, Get Happy," complete with a little help from some notorious unhappy YouTube stars. You can take a look at the new ad before it airs below, along with the complete press release for a little more background.
