Vw Bus/van 1972 Hot Rat Rod Volkswagen on 2040-cars
Paint Rock, Alabama, United States
I have up for bidding a 1972 VW Bus/Van. I've gone thru the brakes and got it running again. I've got the trim and bumpers inside of the Bus. I've got both front seats and the rear seat. It does have some rust but no that's not repairable or that keeps it from driving. It has a weber carb/intake setup. This will make a great project that you can drive while you fix up or leave as is for the rat rod look. All the glass is intact but the front windshield is cracked on the passenger side. Please give me a call with any questions and I'll do my best to answer them. Will be sold with a Bill of Sale as Alabama doesn't issue titles for vehicles below 1974. I do reserve to end the auction early as I do have it for sale locally. I can assist the buyer with shipping arrangements at all cost to the buyer. 256-783-9173 thanks Jonathan Pylant |

Chrysler and Fiat offering $1,000 rebates to VW owners as Marchionne gets tough
Mon, 10 Dec 2012The throw-down between Fiat CEO Sergio Marchionne and Volkswagen has heated up in earnest. According to Bloomberg, Fiat and Chrysler are now offering current Volkswagen owners in the US $1,000 rebates to trade in their ride. It's the latest in a series of shots Marchionne has taken at his German rival. As you may recall, the Fiat executive entered into a spat with Volkwagen board chairman Ferdinand Piëch and CEO Martin Winterkorn in October after the duo called for Marchionne's resignation from presidency of the European Automotive Manufacturers Association (AECA). At the time, the Volkswagen executives were quoted as saying Fiat would not survive the European economic downturn.
In response, Marchionne called the German executives "reprehensible," and accused Volkswagen of using a pricing strategy that has created created a "bloodbath" in the EU. Volkswagen has taken to steep discounting to carve out ever-larger slices of market share in Europe, but the company has a much smaller foothold in the US. Marchionne may be trying to hit Volkswagen where the manufacturer is weakest with the new Fiat new incentive program.
Late last week, the Fiat executive was voted to a second term as ACEA president.

VW redoes A-ha's 'Take On Me' music video
Wed, 18 Sep 2013Volkswagen has been responsible for its fair share of witty, clever commercials. "Tiny Vader" might be the most popular, but somehow, we think this newest spot will find a big audience. VW delivers not so much a cover, but a reimagining, of 1980s Norwegian pop band A-ha's famous music video for "Take On Me."
The original opens with an animated motorcycle race, which is revealed to be part of a comic book. VW's version replaces the motorcycle with a Passat, which strikes us as an oddly sober choice when there are cars like the GTI and Beetle in VW's portfolio. But never mind that - take a look down below for the entire 46-second spot. For reference, we've also included the original music video. And if you aren't a fan of the musical stylings of A-ha, just think, VW's choice of 1980s music could have been much worse.
