Happy Valley, Oregon, United States
1972 VOLKSWAGEN BUS WESTFALIA POP TOP CAMPER NO RESERVE Hello Ebayer's, up for auction is this great 1972 Volkswagen Westfalia Bus, this is not a Riviera, it is not a Transporter or a Kombi, this is a real deal top of the line Westfalia Camper Bus... They are rare and extremely desirable, and worth a lot of money, there not only super fun but a great investment also. This great Bus was purchased off the second owner, due to illness he has forced to park it, then eventually sell. I put a new battery, fresh gas, points and a new fuel pump, it started right up and the engine runs great, shifts and breaks good also. I did notice that the muffler was a little loud and might have an exhaust leak or possibly a clogged catholic converter, never the less there both easy and inexpensive to fix. This Westy comes with a pop top, over head hammock bed, fold down sofa bed, ice box, sink, dinette and side table, closet, and tons of storage. This is the ultimate camping vehicle, great for all outdoor adventures, or if your a hippy, or one at heart like I am, you'll love the iconic look and feel of this great Bus...its like taking a trip back in time :-) This vehicle is being offered at auction for 3days only, and will be sold to the highest bidder (NO RESERVE) so please if you have any questions or concerns ask prior to bidding thanks and GOOD LUCK!!!

VW makes $23K on every Porsche sold, more than Bentley or Lamborghini
Fri, 14 Mar 2014It's a good time to be in the luxury car business. In Volkswagen Group's financial report for the 2013 fiscal year, it is revealed that that Porsche enjoyed an operating margin of 18 percent. That means the Stuttgart brand made on average about $23,200 per car sold, according to BusinessWeek. Bentley wasn't far behind, and Audi (which was combined with Lamborghini) posted a 10.1 percent margin. This compares to only around 2.9 percent for the Volkswagen brand.
"Luxury brands are on fire," said Dave Sullivan, an industry analyst at AutoPacific. He said that the average profit margin is between six and eight percent. Brands like Porsche and Bentley have the benefit of competing in rarefied markets. Buyers looking at one their vehicles have fewer models to shop against and don't care as much about price. They can also charge more for options, which further boosts income, according to BusinessWeek.
In a way, we should be more impressed by the continued success from Audi. Its models generally have direct competitors in every segment from the other premium automakers. Plus, their buyers aren't the captains of industry who are shopping for a Bentley. Still, the Four Rings is leading rivals in sales so far this year.
VW looking to MAN up, ditch Mercedes van deal
Wed, 16 Jan 2013Unlike the US, the commercial truck market throughout the rest of the world is chocked full of competitors from many different automakers. Since 2006, Volkswagen has had a fullsize van called the Crafter that was a result of a partnership with Daimler AG and based on the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter. This partnership is supposed to last through 2016, but Reuters is reporting that VW might be looking to end its relationship with Daimler and create its own van in cooperation with German truck and bus maker MAN.
The article says that VW AG has more than a 75-percent stake in MAN, which would essentially be keeping the new commercial vehicle in-house. Even if VW bolts, Daimler still has a deal worked out in the commercial truck industry between its subsidiary Mitsubishi Fuso and Renault-Nissan to supply the other with different trucks.
