Volkswagen 1973 Convertible Bug

This auction is for a neat convertible bug ~ The bug was in the process of being re-stored.  The bug runs and drives, we put in a new battery.  The odometer reads 47,000 miles, I have no idea the accuracy of the odometer.  The windows work, the convertible top is new, the two front seats are in nice condition the drivers seat does have a hole approximately the size of a quarter.  The back seat needs to be re-done, the front windshield does have some damage.  The car has 4 gear changes but no clutch.  The car does as well sell with two extra front fenders and more misc.  I will add pictures of those items.  The vehicle has four gears, I added a picture.  I do not deal in cars, it was super cute and I could not resist.  Now the hubby says heck no :(  Please email me with questions I will do my best to answer.

Shipping to be paid for and arranged by buyer.  $500.00 deposit due within 24 hours of auction close.  Final payment within 7 days of auction close.

Volkswagen Golf Wagon leaked ahead of official unveiling

Sat, 02 Mar 2013 20:10:00 EST

Wagons ho! These three images of the upcoming Volkswagen Golf Wagon have leaked online ahead of the car's official debut, which may very well be at the Geneva Motor Show. Looking over the photos doesn't really bring any surprises - after all, this is a VW Golf with a wagon rear end grafted on, or basically what we expect next Jetta SportWagen will be.
We can only share these three images at this time, but fret not, folks. There's little doubt that all the details and images will be flowing from Volkswagen in short order. In the meantime, click on the images above to view them in high resolution.

Volkswagen breaks 40-year-old sales record in 2012

Sun, 13 Jan 2013 18:00:00 EST

The last time Volkswagen moved this many vehicles in America in one year, Richard Nixon was still a President in good standing, Let It Be was a radio hit and each car wearing the VW badge boasted an air-cooled engine. That's right, with a grand total of 580,286 vehicles sold in the US last year, the VW Group has broken its own four-decades-old sales record by 2,899 vehicles.
Of that 580k total sold, 438k were Volkswagens and 139k were Audi products - increases of 35.1 percent and 18.5 percent, respectively, in year-over-year sales. The ultra-premium members of the VW group also fared well; Bentley delivered 2,315 vehicles for a 23.3-precent increase, and Lamborghini delivered 520 units for a 52.9-percent jump. Bugatti, we're told is "right on track."
Jetta (pictured) sales paced the marque with 170k models sold, and Passat also finished very strong with sales of 117k total. Tiguan also racked up its best year on file, with 31,731 models shifted.

Volkswagen CrossBlue Coupe is a green fun-machine we want to drive

Fri, 19 Apr 2013 09:00:00 EST

Think back to January's Detroit Auto Show. Those of you that are fans of the Volkswagen brand, impressed with green technology or simply fall into the "diesel geek" category, will almost certainly remember VW's CrossBlue concept with its diesel/electric hybrid powertrain, seating for seven, and somewhat awkward crossover styling. It was an impressive piece of future tech, to be sure, though it left something to be desired in the, well, desirability department.
Here in Shanghai, VW has brought along a CrossBlue Coupe concept that would seem to include most of the goodness of the original, but flavored with more sport and style this time around.
The CrossBlue Coupe makes use of the same electric drive components as the larger three-row concept: two electric motors (front and rear) powered by a 9.8-kWh lithium-ion battery. However, where the original concept made use of a TDI four-cylinder, the Coupe substitutes a 295-horsepower, direct-injection, gasoline-burning V6.
