1967 Volkswagen Vw Beetle Bug Vintage Fast Reliable No Reserve 1776 Cc 12 Volt on 2040-cars
Marina, California, United States
1967 Volkswagen Beetle Up for sale is my beloved 1967 VW bug. Recently restored (2012) with fresh paint. Low miles on custom-built 1776 cc motor with dual carbs. Everything works. This is a really fast, fun little car to drive. It turns a lot of heads here in the Monterey Peninsula area. The color is called Orient blue, a stock VW bus color. The stock color is an off-white or cream color. This one is in very good condition overall, with one tiny ding on right rear quarter panel (see pic). Otherwise very clean body with the beginnings of some minor rust starting to show on rain gutters. Floor pans are solid. This has been a really reliable daily driver for me over the past 10 years, but it's time to downsize. I have invested more than $10,000 in this car over the past 10 years. Clear title. I have all receipts for work I have done to this car. Inside of trunk and engine compartment have been sprayed with black weatherproof paint. Brand new spare. Tires currently on vehicle are in good shape. Transmission, clutch, and brakes have been regularly maintained and are in good working order. There are no current mechanical issues with this car. Shipping is the buyer's responsibility. Local pickup is preferred. No scam artists or low-ballers, please. I will be happy to answer any questions about this vehicle. Just drop me a line and I'll respond within 48 hours. Paypal or cash is preferred. All electronic payments must clear my bank before pink slip is turned over. Thanks for taking a look! |

Volkswagen to add 50k jobs by 2018
Thu, 04 Apr 2013Volkswagen still has its eyes set on becoming the top global automaker by 2018, and to get there, it's apparently going to need more boots on the ground. Automotive News Europe is reporting that VW is looking to increase its staff by 50,000 over the next five years - an increase of nine percent - which does not include an increase in its US dealer network.
According to the report, a majority of the growth will come from China where the automaker is also looking to double its production capacity in the same time frame. The Volkswagen Group is already expected to rival General Motors for the top sales spot in China this year, and such a rapid expansion in the region could make a good springboard for sales increases in other countries.
VW investigating Golf water leak discovered by car magazine
Sat, 07 Sep 2013Volkswagen is in a spat with German magazine Auto Bild over claims that its new, seventh-generation Golf may already need a recall. The German weekly reports that new Golfs can leak water into front-passenger footwells due to a faulty drainage tube in their air conditioning systems.
And while the fix itself doesn't sound too terrible, because Volkswagen bases so many cars off the same platform as the Golf, Auto Bild is claiming that 300,000 models could be affected, including the Audi A3 and Seat Leon. That's a very bold claim. For its part, VW is vehemently denying that number, according to Reuters, saying it's aware of the problem and claiming only 46 Golfs need fixing. In addition, it denies that any Audi or Seat models are affected by the issue.
Either way, regardless of how pervasive this leak issue is, North American buyers should rest easy knowing that the problems ought to get fixed by the time the Mk VII Golf finaly reaches our dealerships.
Silverado HD, Touareg V10 TDI face off in diesel tug-of-war
Sun, 30 Dec 2012A couple weeks ago, we watched a Chevrolet Silverado get dominated by a Dodge Ram Heavy Duty in a fullsize pickup tug-of-war, but in that truck's defense, Chevy's Vortec gas engine was no match for the torquey Cummins turbo diesel. For our next round of vehicular tug-of-war, a Duramax-powered Silverado HD takes on Volkswagen Touareg V10 TDI.
Now, on paper, putting the Duramax V8's 365 horsepower and 660 pound-feet of torque up against the V10's 310 hp and 553 lb-ft looks like an easy win for the Bowtie, but unfortunately, this battle has a similar result as the Dodge versus Chevy video, with the Silverado smoking its tires trying to move forward as it gets pulled backwards. Put another way: YouTube 2, Chevy Silverado 0.
It just goes to show, though, that big tires, bolt-on fender flares and goofy smoke stacks don't improve your towing abilities. Besides, what did the Silverado driver expect when the Touareg V10 TDI has towed a Boeing 747 in the past?
