Maize, Kansas, United States
this is a real nice convertible. would be a great car restored. i bought the car five years ago from a friend. he had started restoring it. at that time some of it was taken apart. all the parts that are blue were off the car i had them media blasted and etch primed and urethane primed and painted in true candy blue paint over silver base. then clear coated then sanded and polished out. very show quality job. the rest of the body was put in hot rod black primer. the driver side floor pan was replaced full pan front to back the pass. side was cut out needs a new one welded in . the rocker skins need to be replaced on both sides. the engine is a 1600 that is newer. it was complete that he bought for it, it was running when it was put in storage it turns over good. i just sat it in the car with a few bolts to put it in storage. the wood is all there from the convertible top, in great shape has a ll new molded carpet set for it. the seats have been all recovered. every thing in the picks is what goes with the car. the glass looks great. he gave me a Alabama title with it. looks like a registration to me. i never did any thing with it. i will give it with the car and i will make a bill of sale for car. this is a KARMANN BEETLE CONVERIBLE ANY QUESTIONS CALL ME AT 316 409 8220 THANKS rolls good can help load if needed

World Car Of The Year down to its final four
Wed, 13 Mar 2013
Judges for the World Car of the Year Award have narrowed down the finalists to just four vehicles. Out of a total of 42 entries, only the Mercedes-Benz A-Class, Porsche Boxster/Cayman, Scion FR-S/Subaru BRZ/Toyota GT-86 and Volkswagen Golf remain standing. For Volkswagen, this marks the second consecutive year the company has had an entry among the finalists, and the fourth time since 2009. In order to qualify, a vehicle must be on sale on two continents during the span of time between January 1, 2013 and May 30, 2013. A panel of 66 journalists from 23 countries then vote on the finalists.
Three vehicles have made the cut for the last round of voting on the 2013 World Performance Car as well, with the Cayman/Boxster and FR-S/BRZ/GT-86 running against the Ferrari F12 Berlinetta. Meanwhile, the Renault Zoe, Tesla Model S and Volvo V60 Plug-In Hybrid are duking it out for the World Green Car Award. Finally, the World Car Design of the Year Award is up for grabs between the Aston Martin Vanquish, Jaguar F-Type, and the Mazda6. Check out the full press release below. Overall winners will be presented at the 2013 New York Auto Show.
Volkswagen looking to acquire Proton, Lotus?
Thu, 26 Jul 2012Let's say you're an automaker bent on world domination looking to grow your sales. That's going to have you looking at Asian markets, because that's where some of the biggest growth has been, and that's exactly what Volkswagen is doing as it considers making another run at Malaysia's Proton.
Reuters reports that Volkswagen is interested in at least a partial stake, if not a controlling interest in Lotus-parent Proton as a way to continue a production presence in the region without having to build its own factory.
Volkswagen already builds the Passat in a DRB-HICOM facility in Pekan, Malaysia, and plans are in place to build the Jetta and Polo there, as well. With both southeast Asia and its relationship with Proton figuring so importantly in Volkswagen's plans for expansion, buying into Proton can help ensure stability. Volkswagen is being tight-lipped about the whole idea, but CEO Martin Winterkorn did recently say, "it's our clear goal to continue the successful (expansion) course of past years with great dynamics and stability," which sounds an awful lot like deals are on the table to smooth the path to further growth.
